I also have a concept sketch for I Have No Faith And I Must Exorcise AM (IHNFAIME is what I’ll be using going forward lmao)

I want it to be eerily human, but not quite. It’s goal is to get a human body after all.

Small lore dump bc why not, basically rather than being a massive war AI that gained sentience, it’s a more experimental AI that gained sentience. It breaks away, seeking out a way to gain senses, to be human. Basically, with its large database, out of sheet desperation, it turns to occult practices to gain a body. A cult, to summon demons, to give itself form. After all, it doesn’t have blood to sacrifice.

Not yet anyway.

So basically my general idea is basically AM summoned a demon, found out it wouldn’t be able to help it, and set it loose on the town and it found Ellen

The demon is still Alu because I don’t have the energy to find a new demon and draw a new possession concept. Plus the was Alu’s victims look already pairs well with what I was planning- AM harvesting blood flesh and bone from innocent people to build itself a body, using demons and their magic to not only help kill people, but to also use their magic to eventually give the body life. Alu was not cooperating with this plan and so AM just let it go

Now, since it mutilates it’s possessed victims, Ellen gets a tad fucked up. Most if not all of it is reversed once Alu is exorcised out of her though (if Ted doesn’t decide to kill her)

I wanna mention as a side note Ted and Ellen are actually mutuals in this universe, they’ve known each other for some years. Ellen actually writes some letters to Ted when she first suspects a demon might be stalking her, as Ted is the only priest she knows, and since letters take a while, Ted only manages to get to her once she’s already been possessed.

I may draw a possessed version of Ted, because I do like how in faith Alu can possess John. We shall see

Also YES, AN EXCUSE TO TALK ABOUT THIS AU- also you should totally get into Faith it’s honestly awesome. If ya like horror, that game is a GREAT play (or watch!) not even religious in the slightest and I love it

Anyway, ramble time

If possible, the poor thing is even more cowardly (which is saying something) if it weren’t for an innate sense of duty, and a mild savior complex, he would’ve chickened out after seeing the first vessel (I know who it is but none of you do HAHA)

To continue the dwindling faith metaphor from the game, his cross is almost always brass/copper, as he honestly doesn’t think he can do this, AT ALL. (It will have its moments where it turns silver, even gold)

His paranoia is still a key factor in every thing. I mean, when you’re getting swarmed with demons day in day out, you’re gonna start distrusting the shadows in the corners of your eye. And that cult leader could be anywhere…

Finally I wanted him to be a tad more willing for violence than John. (Admittedly John has his moments but I wanted to give Ted more)

One thing I was thinking of including, was a turning point during Ellen’s exorcism- Ted has a fucked ankle, and a mildly fucked knee, from different accidents, and thus has to use a cane to walk around. This cane has a sharp end.

I want there to be a moment where he can choose to either kill Ellen, to both drive the demon away and end her mutilated misery, or continue the exorcism and deal with whatever the consequences are after.

I have not yet decided which decision is good or bad, because one leans into the IHNMAIMS side and on leans into the Faith side. I’ll see which one wins.
