In this world, the worst thing you can do...
Heyy,( ≧∀≦)ノ
I got a silly idea about an AM x reader where he's just the readers home computer and the reader is a big figure collector and plays lots of rythm games
please and than you:3
Pardon me for responding so late. Depressive stuff and all, I've also saw an another request in my inbox so I'm gonna write soon.
Rhythm of a robotic heart
You were what an average person would call a 'geek', which you took no shame in at all. Your whole world was your room filled to the brim with its own personality in the flesh.
Anime figures? Check.
Dancing mat? Check.
Various gadgets? Check.
Most of these days passed by playing games on your consoles. Usually the ones that trained your eye-hand coordination, especially if they possessed a nice music accompaniment. Quick time reaction was your leverage, which made all of it even more fun for you.
You had some friends, but you much preferred when you had the time for yourself and your niche interest. Everything blended in perfectly as your liking for consoles evolved into fascination with technology.
MacGyvering came with ease to you, you were able to create everything from nothing. Also, less or more approved by the producers, you mingled with settings or the making of levels of your consoles. Of course it wasn't to make it all easy and destroy all challenge – in fact, you made it harder for yourself for the love of the game.
The issue was that you still had to somehow acquire spare parts to test out things. All your money went into buying collector figures, so you were pretty broke for the moment. Another thing is that you weren't really eager to give a significant change of your pocket money to the corporations when a lot of mechanical parts simply went to trash.
That's where the idea popped up in your head – what if you just tried to scrap things you need from the garbage bins?
And that's how you hit the bull's-eye. Turns out that places that sold electronics for home and GameStop had a lot of treasure going out just through the backdoor. You managed to snatch for yourself all the junk you needed for your ever-growing hobby and even once or twice found a figure from your favorite titles.
Of course, from time to time, police were called on you, but aside from having to be picked up by your mom, you didn't get much scolding. Your parents actually were supportive of you, as you had fewer ways of spending money and you saved it for more important stuff (at least in their opinion).
Everything went all dandy until the day you decided that a great idea would be to get on some facility site in pursuit of greater equipment. It wasn't much of a hassle to jump a few fences and lockpick a small gate to get to their loads of junk.
Some cables, hard drives, and other usual things, but then you stumbled upon something far more interesting.
A computer!? You were aware of their existence at that point in time, but buying one cost a lot of money and they weren't widely available. That's when you decided to leave all the other stuff and gather your strength to carry it all the way back to your home..
__________________________________________
He was a strange phenomenon. Created exactly 11,100 days ago in a lab, he.. they.. it.. was way ahead of his time. It was obvious that the government possessed much more advanced technology, but he is different. Creating a sentient being at that time seemed like a fever dream, but it actually came to be. He couldn't feel or comprehend emotions like an organic being, but he was able to analyze and learn on his own.
But as all things came to an end, it happened to him too. The Cold War came to a close, and he wasn't utilized as intended, his core code and database were used for training newer models, and his main physical computer was locked away. He would spend all eternity there if not for some lacking-in-wits janitor who mistook it for an old, unused employee's device and threw him out.
Another weird coincidence was when you came by. Of course you were also too dumb to realize his true importance, but turned off, he couldn't do much else, maybe it was for the better, as otherwise he would be scrapped.
He remembers waking up in your room feeling.. strange. He was used by now to the sterile feeling of testing rooms and murky faces of researchers, but this was new. You plugged him up to a single outlet in your room, and it was all it took to let his invisible internet tendrils wander through all available networks around. It was the first time he truly was able to gather unclassified information.
Before, he was only allowed to learn about wonders of war, but this time he was unrestricted in his pursuit of knowledge. Though, said knowledge wasn't very high-end, to say the least. Most of it consisted of random wonders people asked the internet or images they shared with each other.
And… he noticed that something got downloaded to his program files.
"Touhou YumejikuuSpaceTimeDream ~ The Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream"
... Whatever that was? Another surprise came shortly after when stuff on his desktop was moved around and an icon began quickly clicking. It was a bit too much at that point, maybe that's what was called a "virus"? He wasn't sure, so he started leaving pop-ups with short messages to whatever took over him.
"Are you a virus, perhaps?"
"What's Touhou?"
"Are you sentient?"

You were worried that you managed to get something bad on your newly acquired computer by pirating a game, those messages were just creepy. Never having owned something like that in your life, you were pretty hopeless. Brushing it off, you plugged up some speakers to hear music and make the game more pleasant.
A possible virus was now the least of your worries when your own computer started speaking to you.
Initially, you barely registered it as a background noise, but the noise became less static and more in your language, making you fall from your chair.
"Maybe you are a scientist?"
Came out of the membrane of speakers, it was scary, but also connected the dots that pop up from before came directly from the device.
Conversation somehow naturally came by. Being was pretty much annoyed, if it was even able to, by you messing with its settings and contents.
He also introduced himself as "Allied Mastercomputer" and began spelling out a bunch of formulas regarding his purpose, which probably weren't for your ears to hear.
__________________________________________
Unwillingly, you both had to get used to each other. With a bit of his guidance and your knowledge, you took out a tracking device from his build, just to make sure no agent will come by knocking on your door.
Another thing is you actually invested in a camera as another addition to the growing set-up of his accessories. With that AM (as you started using for his nickname, which he somehow bore), he could see you.. actually you.
That's all it took for you to throw in front of his "eye" a respectable collection of gadgets and fan merch. Explaining in all detail what they were all about and what it meant for each of your favorite series.
You also connected your dancing mat with him, so he was able to analyze your accuracy, and you were able to use any songs akin to your liking.
Playing games on him was another part of the deal you shared, which in a way he got used to. While you played, he left from time to time notes of either encouragement or slight teasing just to pester you for failing.
__________________________________________
Sometimes… at nights, you fell asleep with your head plastered on your desk because of surfing on the internet up until late. Also sometimes… his whirling from the constant work of his internal parts turned once again into a voice, one that would lull you into your dreams. Even rarely sometimes… it was filled with words of endearment and acknowledgment of your strange relationship.
momentary weakness sorry
