After calming down, knowing that it was more of a software (!!!) issue (and as a computer engineer myself, that fucking sucks, but it is what it is) not all is lost just yet
First, we should all collectively sigh the biggest sigh of relief that Max is okay and his hand is fine, as someone whose first race to watch was Zandvoort ‘23, I’m eternally grateful and thankful that Max is fit
Second, DM01 and RB22 had pace!! Yes believe it or not it does. Because if it didn’t, then Isack wouldn’t have been p3, and both VCARBs into Q3. It is quite unlucky that Max got the software issue that caused excessive energy recovery that caused the rear to fully lock and at that speed, Max couldn’t save or do shit. Its more of a luck issue with the system, and more so that its happened to Max first
Third and finally, Max is calm. His pen interviews, his debrief vid after being released from the medical centre, he has a calm demeanour, which if you know and seen Max, this is exactly what we as Max fans want. Because we know what he can do. And lastly, Mercs (specifically George) have used more batteries, and as someone who does analysis on data, my analytical mind is going somewhere that I’m praying for. But not going to say it out loud as of now until we understand more.
But yeah, sucks, but it’s Max. If it were anyone else, would have been over, but for him, it never is

Day 2 brought issues
Merc pu issues are to be highlighted (to the extent that they had to change the one that was previously in the car)
RBR DIDN’T HAVE A PU ISSUE, IT WAS A HYDRAULIC ISSUE NO ISSUES WITH THE PU!!!
(had to highlight this for obvious reasons)
That’s why the major runners were Ferrari and McLaren.
Also as we all expected Max fucking hates the regs and as a result, is calling these regs as Formula E on Steroids
Also, looks like we might be getting some more info regarding the Merc pu that could apparently be illegal and they’ll have to manufacture and design a legal one, but more on that later
But nonetheless Isack was able to have some very consistent runs with just the afternoon session with 87 laps, which I’m not too upset about
And again, this is testing the time tower doesn’t matter
(unless your name is Max Verstappen and you are toppingw the timesheets, in that case timesheet is super important and he’s winning it all!)
