imo, aro/ace people using the word queer (in the context of being attracted to the same sex) is okay bc that can happen to ace/aro people too. like, i'm a biromantic asexual so i'm attracted to the same sex as well as guys, then you've got your sexual aromantics who are interested in the same gender as well! Honestly, i'd say it really comes down to how comfortable the person is using the word queer to describe themselves, and ace/aro people are erased from the lgbtq+ spectrum so often that (1)
people don't recognize aces and aros as belonging there, you know? Sorry for sending two messages i just tend to ramble and idk sorry if i came of as rude or anything!! just wanted to give my two cents. if i'm misinformed or like really wrong and making an ass of myself i'm really sorry and please don't hesitate to tell me !!
nah it’s okay and yes ofc aro/ace ppl belong in the lgbtqa+ community and lgbtqa+ places, like there’s no doubt about that? it’s just the word queer is a slur aimed at ppl experience same gender attraction/trnas ppl so, ppl who are cis or do not experience that attraction at all can’t rly reclaim it? but that’s just abt the slur and not about aro or ace people being part of lgtbqa+ community bc there’s no doubt they do?

(we’re here for the music! yes, it’s important to recognize when something problematic happens and that someone is problematic, but i didn’t start listening to a band for their actions and personalities. i started listening to the band because i like the music they produce.)
