kyle - kyle, named for the vine, is a living shithead that we all have a little bit in each of us
celeste - i was looking at celestial maps, and kind of worked up the idea of this girl who could map out more than just stars and buildings, and thus celeste the tired ass cartographer was born
mara - celeste needed a roommate and someone vaguely functional in her life
gavin - originally, gavin was going to be this minor character, but he’s sort of like sokka from avatar the last airbender if sokka was a bartender
