In parkour we always called this move a ‘baby giant’. Giant being the gymnastics move where you swing 360 around the bar with your body in a straight handstand position. 🤸🏼♂️ It’s not hard to attempt it’s essentially just a ‘ninja get up’, the easiest way to go from below a bar to on top of it as seen in the last clip (anyone got another name for it?), but you pull hard enough up at the right angle that you clear the bar with your hips, stomach and chest. It’s a good combination of strength, swing, timing and spacial awareness. 👌🏼 I’ve not been able to do it in years but with my frequent training now I’ve attempted it every few weeks just to see how it feels and finally rekindled it yesterday! I believe from a mixture of all the kipping pull-ups and bouldering I’ve been doing lately 🐵 Maybe one to try next time your hanging on a bar with space above? Or perhaps you already got it?
