New work! Business Idol 1: hand-carved limestone, 13.5" x 5" x 5". This Idol has to do with masks and costumes, and suits we wear to give the world a certain impressions, while obscuring hidden depths. Better pics to come when I can pay for them, and this will be available for sale in my Etsy shop (www.etsy.com/shop/CultSculpture) #churchofdust #idleidol #flymetothemoon (at Sycamore, Illinois)
Homage to Humbaba, oil on wooden panel, 15.5âłx28âł
This piece is for a show curated by Richard Saja at One Mile Gallery in Kingston, NY this September.
Iâm stepping away from this piece for now though I feel like I have some color issues I still need to figure out. I think this body of work is starting to think more about the evolution of the human species. What made us the way we are? Cooking? Psychedelics? Did we worship nature before we separated ourselves from it and became civilized? If modern notions of worship are a result of the patriarchy that took hold on early civilization did âworshipâ as we know it even exist before?

Starting a new rock painting. Not a great photo but you get the gist. This giant cairn will probably be set in the jungle.
Mt. Sinai, Oil on Wooden Panel, 29.5âłx47.5âł
After a studio visit with one of my favorite artists, Julie Heffernan, I decided to revisit these little paintings and follow my instincts. Thinking about animal sacrifice.
