playing with fire
a crisis in the b.rite dorms with @idhojin
Danny was about to start a new campaign in League of Legends when his stomach rumbled. Oh. When had he last eaten? He didn’t quite remember. Whatever. It could wait until he was done gaming, right? Danny managed a few more mouse clicked before his stomach grumbled again, as though insisting no, it could not wait. Danny sighed. Stupid stomach.Â
His sock-clad feet padded softly out of his room and towards the dorm’s kitchen. Danny blinked as he saw the time displayed on the microwave. Had he really been in his room for that long? Whoops. Left to his own devices and with a steady supply of snacks, Danny could very easily spend all day gaming at his computer. If it weren’t for the group’s schedules and Wei-hyung making him spend some time in the sunlight, he’d probably do it all the time.Â
Rubbing his face, Danny opened the fridge. Apart from eggs and some dented soda cans in the back, it was barren. Danny pouted. What was he supposed to do with that? He closed the refrigerator door and considered his options. He could order in, but KTM managment was always complaining about the massive food bills the B.rite incurred. Didn’t really seem like a viable option.Â
Danny could just not eat. As soon as the thought popped into his head, his stomach rumbled in protest. Yeah, that wouldn’t work either. Danny sighed. He’d have to make eggs. It was easier said than done for Danny. He’d moved right from his parent’s home, where his mom took care of anything, into the dorms with four older boys who all seemed willing to dote on their maknae. Danny hadn’t exactly learned how to cook properly in the last four years at the dorms. He had half a mind to beg one of his hyungs to make him food, but they all seemed to be out or busy. With a sigh, danny removed the carton of eggs from the fridge. He’d just have to knuckle down and do it himself. Â
After a fair bit of clanging, Danny managed to remove a frying pan from one of the cabinets. He set it on a burner and turned the stove on. Or, he tried to. It just kept making a clicking sound. Danny lifted the pan and leaned down to get a better look at the burner. His brows furrowed. Why wouldn’t it start?Â
Oh, Danny thought, setting the pan off to the side. Maybe he had to light it himself. Danny rummaged through drawers before finally finding a matchbook. Danny struck a match to test it out. Usually he wasn’t trusted with matches but that was just because his hyungs were paranoid. Danny smiled triumphantly as he watched the small flame burn on the match. He could totally handle this himself.Â
Except, he clearly couldn’t.Â
Danny tried to blow out the match, but it only seemed to move the flame. He tried again and got similar results. As the fire burned lower and lower on the match, Danny began to panic. Eventually, the flame got low enough that it burned the tips of his fingers. Danny yelped in pain and reflexively dropped the match. Unfortunately, it landed on a pile of napkins. Danny watched in horror as the flame grew, eating throw the layers of paper.Â
“Fuck! Someone-shit! I need help!”Â
