During the 2019 edition of NEsxT - independent art network, the artist-run space IDEM Studio hosted Triplette, an exhibition by Ruggero Baragliu, Angelo Spatola, and Samuele Pigliapochi, curated by me, Maria Elena Marchetti, and Fabio Vito La Certosa.
This exhibition continues IDEM Studio mission to display a series of always evolving projects, and, at the same time, to host external curators, artists, and contributors. In this regard, the involvement of three curators was strongly wanted so that IDEM’s creative process, “was exasperated”.
For Triplette the curatorial approach was “1 vs 3″, in which, each curators, worked single-headedly with each artists, to craft three individual artworks that would expand a particular aspects of IDEM’s artistic process. The exhibition became a case study on the approach and the impact of curators in the production of artworks.
