One of the paradoxes of the human soul: a person can be very loving and empathetic, yet ideologically supporting a backward and tyrannical regime or rule, can even rejoice in the suffering of others. This poses no internal contradiction for the said person, for ideology acts as prism through which reality is reflected. In that person's mind, if the regime or ideology are cruel towards a set of persons, his empathy and set of morals do not register as broken, for the ideology does not allow him to perceive reality as such, and accept the suffering persons as human beings. In his internal world they register as deserving objects, not suffering subjects.
So he goes on, he waters his plants, pets his cat, and supports a people's extermination.

NEW VIDEO iDeology - Pumkin Belly In 2018 David Jackson aka iDeology (ID), an upcoming Roots & Culture artist from Clarendon Jamaica, entered a popular song writing and performing contest in Jamaica, the Cultural Development Commission’s JCDC song contest, and won in the Kingston and St. Andrew’s Big Stage Final. His musical journey then led him to veteran producer Steven Ventura, who produced his single called "Pumkin Belly" for Board House Music, while the official music video was directed by Stevie V for ASTA Jam. iDeology speaks about the absurdity in ignoring the obvious and being surprised by the outcome. Change is necessary during these perilous times.

Until there is peace between gods and ideologies, there is no true peace in the world.
Religions and ideologies make wars because ‘gods’ of deities or human figures are nothing but the idols human beings created to sanctify our agendas and actions.Â
The difference between religions, ideologies and true life breeding, true life giving blessings is whether we make ‘gods’ our vessels in which case we judge people and we sentence people to deaths because they are ‘evils’; or we are the vessels of the God of that higher wisdom and love in whom we don’t judge anyone but ourselves in our constant reflections.
Translated from French very kindly by a lovely person called Elle whom you should all go and cheer for. She volunteered quite unprecedented and really has made my day!
This is a fascinating glimpse of discipline at the time and while I've no idea where the little leaflet came from it really was a welcome surprise!
There's a whopping 52 notes of 'advice' and pointers in there and it has to be said it all comes off as a little strict...!
This by no means represents my belief, etc, etc, and is only out of my historical/cultural interest.
MY SMALL VICTORIES
Know how to conquer yourself.
1. In general, know how to refuse what nature asks you for which you don't need, and give it what you refuse without reason.
2. Nature will ask you for several minutes of grace after you wake -refuse to give her a second.
3. She will suggest that you relax, lying down and sitting; to rest during prayer - do not listen to her.
4. Maybe she will even whisper that you should shorten your devotions, to recite your prayers quickly, to omit communion - prolong them, pray more slowly, do not leave it out.
5. Are you sad, in a bad mood, do you want to cry? - Sing, laugh if you can.
6. If you are burning to speak, to say something, to show spirit -be quiet, sacrifice the words to Jesus.
7. Are you tempted to become angry, to throw a retort, to glare at someone; - be good and gentle, obliging and polite.
8. Are you saying something negative, speaking harshly of someone, avoiding meeting them, getting revenge perhaps? - Say something good, or at least be silent, speak gently and in a friendly manner, overrule nature; return good for evil.
9. If you do service out of self-love or cowardice, it costs you - Double motive in doing something will mean that you will get a double motive in return.
10. You feel too much sympathy or too big an attachment to someone - Do not show anything on the outside.
11. On the contrary, if apathy leads you to run from someone - Stop and say a little kind something to them.
12. If a small vanity leads you to look in the mirror with smugness, to spend too much time on your toilette, and to adjust yourself too elegantly - Remember that God regards you with pity, and you will be ashamed of yourself, adopt a more simple appearance.
13. If by your beauty or your toilette, by your spirit or your talents, you know how to skillfully provoke a little glance, praise or flattery etc. - avoid this vanity.
14. Your nature leads you to consider cutting down on spiritual reading to read something frivilous, funny or curious - do not give in to these whims.
15. If disgust leads you to omit your little meditation, the holy Mass, the Peace, the Sermon, the Rosary, the Path of the Cross, etc., - do not listen to the voice of demons; be afraid of the suffering of the good Jesus, the Holy Virgin; do not deprive yourself of what you deserve in Heaven.
16. If a work bores you; you are tempted to finish it in haste or to leave it. - Do not give up; take care it warrants.
17. On the contrary, if your nature leads you to a work you find truly agreeable and to your taste. - Stop immediately.
18. You are invited to a superb concert; the music will be incredible. - Do not go; rather do a good work instead.
19. You are hurting or a little ill; you have broken a habit; you are hurt or wounded; you have broken something. - Say to yourself: Patience! This will happen in life.
20. A dish seems to be burnt or badly presented. - Do not gamble; mortify yourself.
21. There is a little something in a dish that makes you smile. - Give it as an offering to poor Jesus.
22. You have a good appetite; you like to eat dessert, to taste sweets or fruit. Wait a little; eat carefully; sacrifice something to your Guardian Angel.
23. You are tempted to eat or drink between meals. - Do not do it; it is gluttony.
24. You want to pick or sniff a flower - Abstain from this.
25. You want to warm yourself without really needing to - flee from fire as you flee from that of Purgatory.
26. If cold or heat, wind or rain cause you to complain, to grumble or to be bored. - Do not ever say: 'What awful weather!' Do not feel sorry for yourself.
27. Someone around you mentions some curious news. - Do not give it an ear; do not ask.
28. There is an interesting object in your hallway that everyone crowds round to see. - Do not make a point of it, do not look at it.
29. If the freedom of your eyes gives you the occasion to have dangerous thoughts, perhaps even to fall - Be more modest.
30. If the talent, the success, or the qualities of a person excite a little jealousy in you - wish them well, speak in their favour.
31. If you are longing to read a letter that you have received - wait an hour before opening it.
32. You want to do something because it naturally pleases you, or you do not want to go somewhere because it displeases you - Do not do it, go there instead.
33. A defiant speech or criticism has hurt you profoundly - Forget and forgive.
34. A worry or a fear is bothering you - say 'As God wills it!'
35. A lively desire to obtain or to do something has seized you - stay calm.
36. If scruples trouble your soul without cease, you must submit your judgement to your superior. - Know how to obey and you will have peace.
37. Your poor health always preoccupies you and you have no peace. - Give everything entirely to God.
38. A person hurts you by their manners, or shocks you with their faults. Do not become angry, support them.
39. You are reluctant to obey, and do so with regrets and complaint. - Be humble and say; 'God has commanded it.'
40. Someone has done you wrong in business, your property, your honour; you want revenge. - Remember that Jesus has forgiven them for their torment.
41. Someone contradicts you in conversation, criticises your good works; they even slander you. - Pray for those who offend you.
42. God has sent you a painful injury, a long and difficult illness, a change in fortune or a disgrace. Look at Jesus on the cross, think of the beauty of Heaven!
43. You are abandoned, maybe betrayed by a friend. - Was Jesus not also in that situation with his apostles?
44. Your body is subject to small sufferings; a headache, toothache, stomach ache. - Tolerate it in silence.
45. Your small amounts of miserliness, your greed, your impatience or the human dignity you denied a poor person - Give double the amount to charity.
46. A certain laziness leads you to neglect the order of your affairs, the cleanliness of your house or your person. - Stop and conquer bad habits.
47. Death takes a cherished, pleasing and good person from you - Do not mutter words against Divine Providence, pray a lot for their soul.
48. Disparagement, criticism, the news of the world are the usual subjects of your conversations. Think of the day when you will have to recognise how useless your speech was.
49. Everything around you makes you impatient. - Stay in a good mood.
50. You are lead to always make excuses for everything - Admit your guilt at the beginning, confess voluntarily to your tactlessness.
51. Fickleness leads you to make witticisms, and lightness or the eagerness to do everything quickly and above all superficially - Submit to rules over your life and keep to them strictly.
52. Your heart leaps with emotion in your chest, it wants to escape from sharp speech and things that are disagreeable etc. - Take it with both hands, let the storm pass, do not say a word.
