So I noticed something recently about the mission Get To Know Jack with some of the dialogue of the echo-logs. In one of them Jack's upset because Angel isn't working in the way he wanted her too and one of the other guys suggests shutting down the Angel project and says that Jack's wife thought it was dangerous too before she died. Which means that Angel's mother was alive during the time that she first got hooked up to the core and when the Eridium experiments started. The idea that Angel didn't kill her mother is further encouraged by one of the other echo-logs in the same mission where Jack seems to be trying to get a baby Angel to "get on her throne" and telling her that this was her new home(which I assume was the core and whatever equipment needed for the Eridium??)to which Angel responds with "Where's mommy?" And if Angel had killed her mother then why would she be asking where she was?

And I read somewhere that during a AMA that Jack implied that the first person he ever killed was his wife(I'm not 100% on this because I've never seen this AMA thing and I don't even remember where I read that originally)

So,

The theory is:

Jack decided to start running the Eridium experiments on Angel and Angel's mother either let it happen or couldn't stop him, then things started getting dangerous. The experiments were going nowhere and Angel was just being needlessly tortured because of Jack's insane goal to charge the key. Angel's mother steps in and tries to stop Jack from hurting Angel anymore then he already has and Jack kills her to get her out of his way.

   "There is always more than one option in life. What we choose to act on depends entirely on us," Hinata mused, tone of voice careful and gentle.

   It was not a rare situation that people came to her for help or advice. And although she managed to keep her composure from the outside, it seemed the inside of her mind remained with the shy child she used to be― why would they come to her when it felt like her life was in pieces that never seemed to come together? The chaos in her head was unending; and yet her heart tried to reach out to the world, to offer help where it was needed.   If others found peace in her presence, found her words worthy of their attention, what else did she need? Love of her friends and family was enough to bring happiness to her troubled self. It was okay after all.
