Ceej and Rob are back with tales of snake-oil, half watched movies and wonderful women.
Rob learns that warnings on medications arenāt there for the heck of it, Ceej isnāt a fan of no Will Smith and bad acting Jeff Goldblum in Independence Day: Resurgence and they come up with an amazing premise for a meeting of two great franchises. Ā Ceej does the unthinkable and opens up a highly collectible piece of merchandise, Wonder Woman was a movie (Spoilers: 62:00-82:ish), Rob puts his foot in his mouth once again, and Ceej canāt pay attention thanks to some amazing stickers.
20 years ago I fell in love with a stupid, stupid movie with silly characters and cool alien villains. 20 years later, it kinda happened again, except this time it is even stupider and sillier, with less memorable scenes and music. But, while I can pinpoint the usual, bland bullshit stuff that Roland Emmerich seems to do in every one of his movies, I just really love the fact that Resurgence is an actual sequel that, behind all those flashy special effects and its 2-dimensional characters, actually tries to expand and continue the (so-called) story, which is pretty impressive considering the shootāem up premise.Ā
Oh, haters are gonna hate, but I loved the embarrassingly blatant sequel hook (thatās probably not gonna happen) at the very end of the film. Give me my trashy spaceĀ trilogy, Hollywood!
So there is a book called Ā āIndependence Day: Silent ZoneāĀ about Dr. Okun. Itās a prequel to the 1996 movie. I guess it covers Dr. Okunās days at CalTech and why he was chosen for Area 51. Soooo... I bought it of course! Itās supposed to get here tomorrow. I figure (sadly) there wont be anything about him and Dr. Isaacs, but thatās okay because once I get it and read it Iām just gonna revamp via fanfics and fic that little issue. So thatās what Iām doing with my week, reading and then re-writing a book hahahah.
I think Independence Day just dragged me back into old man hell.
