Hello Idols! We’re here today with a few updates. The first of course is that the first of the new SCHEDULES have been posted, which should be pretty exciting! We’re hoping to get our first flash opportunity and panns up sometime this month as well. Additionally, we’re eager to get started with our upcoming summer event, which will likely take place in early August! And, finally, the storylines have been updated! We may yet add a few more as things fill up, but for the time being we hope you find something enjoyable! We’ve also added an updated hiatus rule because we’ve had some concerns brought up to us about that, and you can find the update on the rules page. 

Additionally, we do have a pretty big narrative push coming for POIZN. Given the nebulous status of their discography groups over the past year and the flux that YG is in, we’ve decided on moving forward with an in character plot arc surrounding the group. The two currently unclaimed members will be revealed to sue to end their contracts and leave the company. Over the next month or two, in character, the remaining/current members will be announced to be pursuing solo careers with the company. If those members should drop, we’l just retroactively remove their positions and increase the number of people who walked away from the company, rather than leaving a number of floating soloists in 99. 

To accommodate for this shift in the 99 narrative and to keep the number of available spots towards an even ratio, we’ve added a couple spots to MayDay and Celeste, as well as a new boy group in the 4th generation, Zenith based on Stray Kids, who will be acting as a mid-ground between the sleek and experimental 1nferno and the bright and poppy B.Rite. Zenith will, as a 99 male group, be given a lot of creative control so if you’re interested in that it’s a group to check out! 

Please remember that in character only the members of POIZN and those they might have discussed it with will currently have any idea whats going on with the two NPC members. Otherwise, your muse should get most of their updates formally through narrative pann posts as they’re released!

Hello Contestants! We're here today with the latest in the Produce Project updates saga. Unfortunately we continue to receive complaints, concerns, and worries over a certain group of muns within the Produce Project taking the competition elements to an uncomfortable and unpleasant realm in terms of tracking the posts of other people and various machinations to ensure being on the top, etc. We're really discouraged and alarmed to hear this after everything we've done to this point to try and mitigate it. We're extremely uncomfortable with having such a damaging environment spread within the roleplay, so we're going to take a final step with this project. We intended it for the future of the next season but are enacting it early.

For the purposes ofthe last round of episodes you may now assume that:

There are no fan votes, or what there are do not effect the final outcome.

There is no ranking, there will be no final rankings, and the rankings from the episode 2 post should be considered the "final" rankings revealed on the show. 

Everyone outside of the current participants was eliminated and they're now operating to try to debut together as a single group, much in the way Stray Kids did on their show. 

At the end of the show we will debut all remaining contestants in a single group (one girl group, one boy group). 

The point system for the show has now been formally dissolved, there will no longer have any PP.

EDIT: You may add 3 sp for each thread of 4/4 + and 5 sp for solos of 500+. The image 2.0 main prompt should still be completed. 

We're really sorry about this. We had a lot planned for Produce Project that we didn't get to roll out for you guys and a lot of it didn't run as intended. Unfortunately we need to prioritize the comfort of our members over the concept. The last thing we want is to leave an environment in place that is becoming a breeding ground for toxic behavior. If you have been made uncomfortable by other muses in any way please consider stepping forward, anonymously or not, to give us as much information as you can so that we can address this strictly and firmly and more precisely.

Hello Idols! We’re back in business here on the main and we hope that you’re excited! For those of you who aren’t privy to the OOC blog, we basically let everyone know that the scale of the site as it was before was just toooooo big for your little tired admin team. So, rather than risking complete burn out, we did a general scaling back and adjustment. We’ve become aware over the months that things are a bit dauntingly wordy and scattered, so we’ve just generally gone ahead and streamlined everything. Many groups existed without a huge amount of narrative purpose and tended to step on each other’s toes, and so on. And, of course, we’d been getting consistent questions and complaints about various aspects of solo artists, how careers worked, who could do what and when and why did this person do x and not this one. So we thought, if it’s this confusing to people, we should probably carefully examine the way we’ve been doing things and see what we can do to improve.

The result is a scaled back roster, taking us from near 100 spots to the mid 70s range, and given that we tend to average between 60 and 70 active muses in general, we think that’ll help keep things closer knit. The first place you should stop by at the moment is probably our new NARRATIVE page, which provides a comprehensive (and lengthy) rundown of the general progression of all groups since 2010!! Wowza! Of course, all of that information can be found in more specific detail on everyone’s companies, but this narrative page gives you a more comprehensive idea of how the whole puzzle fits together!

As far as specific features that have made changes, we’ll lay those out for you here:

In general, canons have made a big change. They’re no longer just fun tidbits (though any canon you previously incorporated that related to your personal background narrative can of course be kept provided it still makes sense narratively) but canons are now directly tied to the trajectory of muses. Particular things have become canon locked in the way that they were formerly locked to secondary skills. These are high fashion modeling, solo work, producing, lyric writing, and acting. This way it can be easily discernible which groups allow which sort of things, where the focus is for various groups, and what each member in a group is generally focused on, without having to read over four or five biographies and then check out the shop to make your best guess when creating your muse or planning in general. As a result, many really desirable things have been tied to canons- such as nation’s titles, of which there are now 9 available for reserve! You can check out further information on career paths HERE. (please note this page will only be up temporarily! This information will be transferred to the shop once that is done being updated)

We’ve also placed a much bigger importance on gbs, which stands for “group based solos” (think groups like Loona that have solo content for each member, but not as much as a full solo debut) and units to give more muses the opportunity to show off individual skills without it being inundated by solo acts. For information on how solos have been adjusted, you can check out THIS page.

The shop has made / is making a big change. A lot of things that were once more small scale purchases will now be free and openly incorporated however you like, especially for the purposes of various prompts. This includes things like single photoshoots and music video appearances (just be pleasantly vague about what exact video it was, and thread away, with a happy suspension of disbelief!), and single episode solo variety guesting (just be realistic and vague~).  Some things will become incorporated in flash events (see below) such as viral moments. Some things will be canon locked such as acting (although things like webdramas are still readily available). Further information will be available when the shop is back up and running on or before June 16 KST. We’ll let you know as soon as we can, since we’ll be adjusting everyone’s purchases and such up until then.

Speaking of delays, the storylines will make a reappearance by that date as well, along with updated awards!

We’ve got a new system of various narrative development elements/prompts/tasks that will replace the current opportunity and schedule format. You can find all of that information on THIS page.

The rules have changed with the scaling back to restrict to 2 muses per mun. However, if you had three muses prior to this rule implementation (e.g. this moment) you’re fine to keep them! But since we cut down so many positions we thought it best to change that as well, at least for now!

As mentioned on the OOC blog, you all have 48 hours to confirm your current masterlist position or to send another reserve. We’ll hold acceptances for “continuing” members this weekend and next at the usual time, so if you can’t adjust your biography by Sunday, you have until the next Sunday to get it finished. At that point, we’ll reopen roles that haven’t submitted. We’ll also take reserves as usual for incoming members, so feel free to check us out.

A reiteration on points: if things have changed for your muse and you have to give up some claims, you’re welcome to refund yourself up to the point of 100 EXP points (because otherwise your admins would just end  up giving themselves over 350 points a piece back and that seems super crazy). For further details on that you can check the OOC blog post, so that we don’t clog up the main.

As a final note, for some fun statistics on what is now available, check this out. Out of 79 positions there are:  3 stand alone solos, 21 group based solos, 10 canon based solos, 18 unit spots (some of which also have gbs spots), 16 acting spots, 15 spots for producing or lyrics, and 9 national titles!

So, feel free to send in some reserves and confirmations! We’ll gather them up over a few hours and then make a major update later tonight or tomorrow morning because we’re about to head off for the evening. So, don’t fret if it isn’t immediately reflected! As we said before, be sure to send it to us on the main THROUGH ASK FROM YOUR CHARACTER ACCOUNT so that it’s all readily available chronologically. Send it twice or three times if you’re worried it’ll get eaten! But that’s the easiest way for us to ensure we can be as fair as possible for things that might be up for open reserve! If you send it to us in IMs or personally there’s a chance we’ll miss it or not know exactly when it came up!!

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: 365 DAYS OF ACTIVITY

Hello Idols! We are here today to be unspeakably, impossibly, immensely thankful to each and every one of the muses that has come through our community over the past year. We are so immeasurably grateful to each and every one of you hardworking and wonderful muns and are so, so happy to have been sharing this community with you for so long. Truthfully, we never had half a dream that we’d last for this long or have as much sustained activity and interest as we’ve had. You’ve all been so patient with us as we’ve worked out various issues and changed up groups and adjusted this and that over the year, and you’ve been kind and understanding when we’ve needed to step back or restructure. We’ve learned so much from all of you over the year, we’ve fixed mistakes and learned how to hopefully optimize the structure of the roleplay to suit our community, and we’re so proud of what we’ve all made together here! Thank you for being patient throughout changes, for reading thousands (literally) of words of content, for writing with us and for bringing Idolize to life!

Hello Idols! We’ve got some big news today for everyone. That is, namely, the removal of trainees and some additions to the site.

In our original plans for Idolize, we didn’t have thoughts to include trainees. The point system and dynamics were and have been geared towards idols, and when we did add in trainees, it was a constant effort to try and make it work. How could we incorporate them more, how could we entice people to make trainees, and so on. We tried out the survival show, but that only produced female trainees and some significant out of character discord, which has had us very hesitant to go there again. We tried assigning groups to each company and spots to claim,  special prompts, opening certain aspects to purchasing, and so on, but for the most part, the groups remain largely empty until debut is imminent.

The average age of muses on the site generally skews around 23 or 24, which means that if people aren’t picking up trainees, there aren’t many other younger muses who can easily plot with the ones we do have, which in nature limits the kind of plots they can get. Thus, we’ve come to the conclusion that we’re removing trainees. The biggest change is that fix8 will be eliminated as a group. Twice and their other discography groups are certainly viable to make an appearance as a rookie group down the line or be retconned into an already debuted status or present in a new company as the need for spots or other narratives arises. Dynamo will be debuting in June and Signal will debut in July. Both will begin getting normal schedules in May’s schedule post, with Dynamo’s focused on debut preparations and Signal’s focusing on a pre-debut survival show similar to the one Stray Kids canonically underwent.

We’ve had repeated interest in mid-range generation spots in girl groups, and as many have filled and remained filled long term, and with the removal of fix8, we’ve ret-conned in the group Celeste, under 99 Entertainment. They have a debut year of 2014 (December 5) and the discography of Apink, Laboum, and AOA. They began as competition to Aurora but quickly abandoned the pure innocent concept and moved to a sexier concept, additionally dabbling in cutie sexy. Upcoming releases will make use of Apinks newer work in a more “girl crush” realm, as they continue to seek out a concept that will resonate with the public.

Lastly, we’ve decided to add a new rule regarding aging up faceclaims. Because we do have such intense competition for spots in the oldest generation of groups - Olympus, JiNX, Heaven, and POIZN - we will no longer allow faceclaims to be aged up to fit to the bare minimum of the group (meaning, for example, you can’t age up a 98/97/96 liner up to 95 to fit the requirement of JiNX, and etc). We have quite a few openings proportionally in more age appropriate ranges that those who do want to play older muses (26/27/28/29+) may not find as accessible. Thus, we’d like to keep those older group spots open for those with an interest in playing older characters and muses. If your faceclaim meets the minimum already, then you’re able to, of course, age them up within the three year rule as you see fit.

Hello Idols! Due to an unexpected admin illness, there was a slight delay with schedules and the updated storylines. Thanks for being patient, we'll get it up as soon as we can! Further, since we're down to so very few spots generally open to reserve, we're now making a rule that existing members must make any additional reservations from their character accounts, so that we can take activity into account before things get too far along in the process. We've required it in the past and dropped it because it was mostly forgotten about, but at this point we're definitely going to be requiring it henceforth!
