I've never heard a creature capture game protagonist sound this exhausted in their own text dialog before, like damn,
From my personal understanding, the Icyridge Help Center Requests happen after you beat Kaze and get Anna's key. Because story wise, you'd be way too busy to be dealing with Anna's life on the line in order to take an actual break to do side quests. But if this was in fact after the Frigid Key, then understandable why they're so tired of everything. They had to deal with the revelation from Zavier, not mentally break down like TJ for the sake of the entire group not breaking apart even further. Not let what TJ said to them get to them and keep it together. Have to deal with Suzie and Quincy's whole mess now and probably deal with the fact they are having some funky ass entity power in them, while dealing with the aftermath of Desmond's death, probably the first death they've faced with for the first time in their life. And yet they're still helping people. Now if that isn't dedication now I dunno what is. They go through with this tedious ass help center request, just for someone they barely know. Like in previous tedious help center requests, they didn't complain or even talk much. But here, we see their thoughts here in full force. They sound so exhausted, they just want things done, they're sick and tired of all the shenanigans and would rather just fight the guy than try to keep talking to him. Because it's just faster and saves them the hassle. (Also, Player tries to talk to him first, before fighting him, viewing him as not really a threat. Player only immediately fights someone when they think that person is a bad guy. But they at least tried to talk to the guy first.)
Keep in mind that throughout Icyridge, Player had to quite literally do a mini boss rush by facing 3 shadow clan members all at once. Then deal with Inari and her very creepy boss trying to constantly battle them. Then deal with Captain Silvier, then have to help Quincy with battling TJ since he sucks ass at battling that much and then deal with Zavier's ass. Canonically all of this happened very quickly and short span, meaning Player had to do all of that without much breathing room. No wonder they try to at least talk things out, they're sick of battling right now.
Sooo, if anyone else has played doodle world is on here, and got the frigid key, i have something to say.
When zavier jumped down and the black screen happened in between, i initially thought it was because zavier got SHOT-
yeah no duh
yeah, it feels like its barely holding on

well I'm out of image files slots, so bye
I really like it that despite the group's own issues and problems, like they all have a drama every arc They have never really gotten on Player for being the silent type or being weird like they are to others or even fault them for their problems
Quincy and TJ have yet to actually directly blame Player for any of their problems, it's always their problem and they make that clear
Like TJ's existential crash out right here.
While TJ does hold some resentment or jealousy over what Player has accomplished He doesn't hate them directly, like them as a person He just wants to one up them for once, who can blame the guy, he's taken so many L's while Player has only gotten W's
Quincy doesn't get on Player for not really speaking either or their accomplishment, and in the latest arc, at least for a little bit, he considered just supporting Player on the side lines
They might have their issues and problems, but they are Player's friends through and through
Because they don't judge them for their choices or what they do, like for example: >Staying silent 98% of the time, >Staring into space at random for no reason, >Staring at people whenever there's a conversation, And we see that in Player beginning to talk more around them
When it's literally joked again even in Icyridge Part 2 that Player is a silent protagonist, like wish wanted to bring attention to it again which makes that moment in the elevator with Quincy all the more prominent that shows that deep down,
Player does view Quincy as their friend
And they view Suzie as their friend as they stand next to her while Quincy is about to battle TJ, and hear a noise and look over to her and question what that noise was,
A sign that someone who's always quiet and introverted like Player actually likes someone is whether or not they start talking to them more often It makes you appreciate the group all the more and really defines your friendship with them
I love Player Doodle World so much

I legit went "Awww" when I saw her send out her Morphiu nicknamed 'Cutie' because that is so adorable Anna is so precious I love her so much; poor girl didn't deserve everything that happened to her Also, Anna was definitely red faced when she was saying that. She's looking away and hiding her face under her hood in embarrassment Like here's a super strong tamer like Player that has like a bunch of super strong and tough doodles right in front of her ...and here she is as a key guardian, with a Morphiu she nicknamed Cutie And I love that Player doesn't actually say anything about it, just battle her and move on Also love that Captain Silvier doesn't reprimand her for being weak because she's a key guardian or whatever He's just comfortable with allowing Anna to have weak yet cute doodles and he'll do the battling for her
Y'know just out of the blue, I had this Food for Mind pop in. It's understandable why TJ crashed out in Icyridge and was overcompensating and just flaunting around that he's special and that he's doing all of that just to beat Player at something. Think about it, He started around the same time as Player did, he's tried to help yet every time he tried, he's either left out or simply not able to. Like with Craig or with Zavier. He started around the same time as Player and works just as hard as they do to get the keys, he should get them too. But he can't. Every time he's tried to get a key; it's been foiled, and Player always ends up getting the key. He should be just as good as them, yet all he hears around him is the praises of how strong THEY are, how great THEY are, how out of his league he is in comparison to THEM. Look, he specifically grows irritated when Anna mentions that Player's come to protect her.
It's always PLAYER. Player that, Player this. Whenever he's brought up, he's just a roadblock. Something that just ruins things. Just like an anomaly would. His envy and jealousy over Player is so visceral. Which is understandable based on what we've seen so far. (It's understandable, doesn't mean it's justified, remember)
See? It's always about how strong Player is in comparison to him. (I love you, Suzie but dear Khaos she was not helping TJ's mental state during this arc, that was primarily Quincy)
You try talking to the guy and he just scoffs at you. Bro really doesn't like how much praise Player keeps getting and the number of W's they've taken.
Again, shown here, that even TJ's small accomplishment of managing to nearly take down Captain Silvier, is nothing to Player ACTUALLY beating him.
Bro can't catch a break. He had to be reminded TWICE by Captain Silvier.
I love that both interpretations of dialog still fit thematically with the Player character that we've seen. Either you pick the option, "Yes, Zavier is very dangerous" and it comes across that Player as in the character still has initial doubts despite the fact they've beaten him twice now. Which is in character for them, considering the fact that they have that initial doubt when it comes to Zavier and facing against him. And maybe they're thinking deep down that because they haven't faced him with his Chronos that he's still very dangerous. (I mean my Mercenous can nuke the fucker but y'know..) The other fact that Zavier is just said to be harmless in the grand scheme of things. They're still very wary of him and have that doubt in them. Which ultimately goes into their more timid and meek character trait we've seen from them beforehand, meaning that that option isn't out of character from them. (Either option doesn't give negative or positive karma meaning this is just how Player is responding normally) The other option, "Nah, I can handle Zavier." isn't out of character either. It shows growth and self confidence that they've developed due to beating him twice among other things. I mean, they have beaten three Shadow Clan members in a row, along with Captain Silvier who's previously undefeated and Kaze who was Yami's next in line. After everything, it shows that they're gaining much more confidence in themselves. Since while the line itself can read as arrogant as the classic "Nah, I'd win" meme. Personally, it can just be humble self-confidence. (And also, Player has been characterized to say, "Nah" multiple times by this point. Primarily through the dialog with Quincy and Suzie in the dungeon so that's just a character quirk with them.) They know they can beat Zavier and they're proud of being able to handle him. Nothing wrong with that.
