14: Kiss Along the Hips

   It was hard to tell when Ichiko Ichinose was upset. At least to the untrained eye. Thankfully for her, Otomi’s eye had become quite trained over the years and she could pick up on the tiniest signals. From the way her hands clenched a tiny bit tighter to the book in her hands, to the tightness of her lips, to the occasional and out of place raise of one eyebrow- they were all small things, but they were there. They lay on the couch together, Ichiko reading a book with Otomi’s head resting comfortably on her stomach as she flicked through her phone. From what Otomi could remember, Ichiko hadn’t seaten anything out of place from her strict diet recently, no one had really been annoying her, and she hadn’t been late to an appointment. Those were the normal things that would set her off but... not this time. What could it possibly be?

   Otomi was getting rather frustrated with not being able to figure out just what it was when she found it. A new article featuring STARISH. Otoya had been interviewed for it recently and she had completely forgot it came out earlier that morning. She opened the article on her phone and read through it.

   Is Ichinose Ichiko really going to make it that far as an idol? Her fanbase seems to be dwindling ever since she joined the idol group STARISH and popularity polls have been showing her lack in popularity compared to it’s other members. It’s doubtful that talent has anything to do with it and is likely the cause of her looks and-

   That’s when Otomi stopped reading. She slowly looked up at Ichiko, who still seemed to be absorbed in her book. This morning was when Otomi started to notice her friend’s irritable attitude, and she was almost certain that horrible article was the case. Why bother interviewing someone if you’re just going to come to your own conclusions? Likely because of her looks? As if. Whatever popularity poll they had been looking at was a clear lie because Ichiko was-- was- she was---

   Otomi slowly rolled onto her stomach and wrapped an arm around the other girl’s waist. The action caused Ichiko’s shirt to slip up, revealing the sensitive skin of her hip and stomach. At this point, Ichiko’s book had been lowered so she could pass a questioning look at the ginger. Without thinking much of it, Otomi leaned down to gently kiss the exposed area of her friend’s hip. “Ichiko.. you’re so beautiful..”
