Honeydew panted harshly, feeling the wrenched breath of the dogs snapping at her heels as her feet smacked the ground, kicking up dirt as her claws scrapped the forest floor.

Honeydew’s eyes fell to Smokefoot in a frantic moment, seeing his head swing back to return her glance, only for his eyes to widen and his mouth to fall open with a scream that Honeydew didn’t hear as her foreleg snagged on a root, her paw twisting at an odd angle as she went tumbling down to ground, her jaws snapping shut painfully.

The golden she-cat barely had time to register the new sharp pain in her paw as it lay dangling, uselessly at her side, the bright red speckles of blood dripping across the floor, before she was scooped up in rabid jaws and tossed painfully back down.

Honeydew couldn’t even yelp through the blood seeping from her jaws as her pursuers tore at her scruff and howled with triumph. she could only barely make out the white and silver pelts of her brother and sister as Icepelt and Sootfrost dashed back for her, their rage filled hisses falling on deaf ears.

“Let Go Of Her!!”

Sootfrost yowled, leaping and raking her claws down the nearest dog’s face, which snapped back at her with a growl. while Icepelt clawed at the heels of the dog holding the barely conscious Honeydew.

Poppyseed raised his hackles as he to turned to face the dogs head-on, Smokefoot beside him and Echostream trailing just slightly behind the two toms.
