Okay I won’t lie, I was pretty excited to review Pure Farming 2018. I’ve always loved these strange, somewhat random simulation games. Playing a game, a simulation game, about doing something arbitrary might seem tedious, but somehow there is nothing more satisfying than growing virtual crops, that you sell at the virtual market, making you virtual money, so you can plant more virtual crops of course.

Pure Farming 2018 does this so well. I really enjoyed every minute of it. The game makes it easy to fall in love with the idea of starting a real farm. Luckily my wife is always at hand to reign me in when these ideas ignite the lightbulb in my head on top of that Pure Farming 2018 goes far enough to satisfy even the pickiest farmers out there.

What really struck me was the ability to farm across various countries, including: Italy, Japan, Columbia and of course, the United States. All containing their own region specific crops.

During your journey through mud and sand you also have the ability to select what kind of farming strikes your fancy, I preferred the field cultivation and the greenhouses, but if raising sheep or harvesting orchards are more your style, Pure Farming 2018 has got you covered.

The UI in the game is really user friendly and you can basically run your farm from your in-game tablet. On the tablet you will find things like your map, current objectives and emails. There is also a patch coming out very soon that will allow custom key bindings as well as support for Logitech and Thrustmaster T300 wheels (obviously you need to drive your tractors in the most realistic way possible!).

Graphically Pure Farming 2018 does not disappoint. The game does what it needs to do. Obviously it does not have flashy explosions or rivers of blood from gory scenes, but I’m 100% sure that was the intention from the start. Somehow I prefer watching sun-soaked fields of gold while waiting for my crops to grow. The vehicles are beautifully detailed and are all licensed products.

The controls are nice and easy to understand. The key bindings are displayed on the screen. This makes it really easy to reference them if you manage to forget what button deploys the roller on your harvester.

I really enjoyed reviewing Pure Farming 2018, it lays the groundwork for a great sim that will keep you occupied for hours on end.
