We live in a time where everyone is stressing working for yourself, entrepreneurship and starting your own business. As a 21 yr. business owner vet., I think it’s great. But the reality is it’s not for everyone and please be REALISTIC and honest with yourself before you quit your salaried job to start your business. I remember “stepping out on faith” 21 years ago, to start my own thing. I hated my bosses and their horrible leadership. So I quit with the faith that God had me and in no time I’d be GOOD. Heck, I was a hot commodity at that time, and I was blowing up. God had me. Right? I tithe and I knew HE GOT ME. Well, He did. But He also gives us WISDOM…but I wasn’t paying attention to that and before I knew it business slowed down, and after a few years, we were in a recession. Needless to say I struggled and BAD. Yes. I made it through. But ya girl lost some stuff and went through some thangs within these 21 years. That’s what people don’t tell you. Owning your own is amazing. But be prepared to go through a lot of storms to get to the promised land and be sure to FAST and PRAY long and hard before leaving any job that pays your bills. Because YES, God is your ULTIMATE provider. But HE provided that job for NOW. Make sure you KNOW LIKE YOU KNOW before resigning from any job that’s feeding your babies and covering your mortgage. Work that new business at least 18 mths. alongside your job to be sure it can sustain you. Create a nest egg of at least 18mths worth of salary to cover expenses…. And of YOUR money. Not relying on ya boo’s or your parents’ money. Because LIFE HAPPENS and they or that money may not be around a year from now. I get it. You hate your job. But be smart and be honest with yourself. Entrepreneurship might not be for you.
