I’ve recently been on a sudden m!Chrobin kick and some of it involves reimagining scenes from PtLY. Highlights include needing to add some worldbuilding to explain that surrogate parents are fine as long as the child is still of Exalted blood (i.e. a possible Falchion candidate) (also I lowkey love giving this role to Sumia for several reasons), and Frederick happily contributing a donation of not contraception, but lubricant 😂

Aww 🥰 I’m super flattered that scenes from PtLY have made for fun mental fodder for you to re-imagine with m!Chrobin! It makes me really happy that you enjoyed the set ups there enough that you’d want to think about how they’d play out in this scenario too 🫶

On the world building front—in chapter one, Maribelle’s dad has a line (that I intentionally left vague / open to interpretation) wherein one possible reading is that surrogacy is indeed considered a viable solution for Chrom producing an heir! Of course, in a fic where Chrom is using that means, there likely would be some more detailed world building and expansion on that idea required, but the basis for it is already built into the fic at least :D

For me personally, when I think about m!chrobin having kids via a surrogate, I tend to prefer a version where neither the surrogate or egg donor are someone Chrom or Robin has any pre-established relationship with (the one exception being if one of them is trans and can donate the egg themselves). But that being said, you are, of course, free to envision whatever spin on the situation most scratches your brain 💕 Just figured I’d share my hc while we were on the topic

I'm replaying the black sheep of Fire Emblem (the first Warriors...seriously, Rowan and Liana were wiped from canon, they're not even in FEH), and it's made me remember.
