it’s  been  a  particularly  busy  night  at  the  club.  in  fact,  there’s  been  an  influx  of  new  visitors  these  days.  most  likely  something  to  do  with  the  club  promoter  that  had  recently  been  hired.  unfortunately,  new  people  only  made  his  job  much  more  difficult.  you’d  think  it  strange  to  place  him  in  such  a  place  to  keep  watch,  considering  he’s  under  twenty-one.  but  saros  had  said  it  himself  :  nothing  he  couldn’t  handle.  and  from  the  mouth  of  his  unforgotten  hero  were  the  words  that  he’d  often  take  to  heart  more  than  anything  else.  there  was  a  lot  that  ran  through  this  hub  of  debauchery.  from  information  to  kilos.  a  new  supply  of  the  good  stuff  came  in  by  shipment  weekly,  an  agreement  sardonyx  had  made  with  the  owner.  they  run  business  out  the  backend  of  the  venue,  and  she  got  the  drugs  to  sell  under  the  counter  to  her  customers.  they  were  in  at  a  25%  cut  of  the  profits.  it  was  ren’s  duty  to  ensure  that  that  money  was  received,  and  that  those  shipments  arrived.  all  that  in  addition  to  his  own  personal  goal  of  keeping  the  men’s  grubby  little  hands  off  the  dancers  without  their  permission.  overall,  it  was  a  lot  to  oversee.  thus,  his  new  little  accomplice,  jack,  had  started  to  tag  along  to  help  with  the  more  remedial  duties,  like  keeping  count  of  stock  in  the  backroom.  now,  jack  was  a  mere  sixteen  years  old,  nicknamed  due  to  the  frost  white  color  of  his  hair,  which  made  him  noticeable.  that’s  why  it’s  so  obvious  when  he’s  seen  having  a  conversation  with  an  unfamiliar  face  on  the  corner  of  the  bar.  his  expression  read  as  nervous,  and  unsure.  two  things  ren  had  once  been,  but  no  longer  was.  assured  footsteps  carry  him  to  his  destination,  and  he  looks  upon  the  duo  with  a  face  that  told  a  thousand  words,  he  was  about  to  end  their  conversation.  ❝  hey,  ❞    the  depth  of  his  voice,  perhaps  the  grip  on  a  shoulder  seemed  to  startle  his  subordinate,  ❝  i  thought  i  told  you  not  to  talk  to  strangers,  little  one.  go  help  out  miss  frank.  ❞  with  those  words,  the  boy  scurried  away  to  somewhere  unknown,  leaving  the  other  two  alone.  ❝  is  there  a  reason  you’re  talking  to  a  child  in  the  middle  of  a  strip  club  ?  or  is  there  something  else  i  can  help  you  with  ?  ❞  was  there  a  reason  a  child  was  in  the  center  of  a  strip  club  ? a  far  better  question  to  be  answered.
