          ⟶          THERE’S  simply  no  way  taeyi  heard  that  right .  first  off ,  𝗕𝗟𝗨𝗘 !?  asking  𝗛𝗜𝗠  on  a  date !?  IN  WHAT  WORLD  WOULD  THAT  MAKE  SENSE ??  second ,  anyone  asking  him  on  a  DATE !?  no  way .  besides ,  this  isn’t  a  teen  movie ,  the  nerd  IS  NOT  gonna  end  up  with  the  sexy  jock .

          taeyi  blinks  repeatedly ,  furrowing  his  brows .  he’s  trying  to  tell  whether  blue  is  being  serious  …  or  if  he  is  simply  trying  to  bait  taeyi  into  –  you  know .  but  he  can’t  tell .  taeyi  is  visibly  flustered ,  he  can’t  even  retort  wittily ,  as  he  usually  tries  to  :  ❝  wh  –   what  are  you  even  saying ??  ❞  he  squeezes  his  thumb  in  his  fist .  looks  away  to  avoid  looking  at  blue .  shivers  a  little .  ❝  if  that  got  you  to  shut  up ??  i’d  say  yes .  …  but  you’d  have  to  pay .  i  feel  like  you’d  take  me  to  subway .  ❞

           ⟶          GRACE  finds  herself  torn ,  once  again ,  between  validating  luca  &  being  a  certified  goody  two  shoes .  sunglasses  indoors ??  UNACCEPTABLE !!  but  luca  does  look  SO ,  SO  good  with  these  sunglasses  …  ❝ i’d  assume  that  guy  just  thought  you  were  intimidating  …  the  sunglasses  hide  your  cute  eyes ,  so  they  only  see  the  cool ,  not  the  cute .  but  also ,  people  can  be  …  rather  particular  about  eye  contact .  it  does  get  annoying ,  huh ??   i’d  wear  sunglasses  indoors  anytime  i  don’t  do  my  makeup ,  no  hesitation . ❞  as  if  she  ever  went  out  without  makeup ,

          ⟶          TAEYI  doesn’t  notice  blue’s  expression  as  he  downs  his  glass ,  but  he  does  notice  the  reprimanding  tone  of  his  voice  when  he  gives  him  advice  that  taeyi  NEVER  EVEN  ASKED  FOR .  he’s  not  wondering  why  that  harpy  left  him  anymore .  she  never  could  stand  people  telling  her  how  to  do  things  –  or  telling  her  ANYTHING  that  didn’t  involve  kissing  her  ass  …  maybe  taeyi  is  the  same  way  ;  he’s  getting  a  bit  annoyed  with  blue  …  

          not  that  he  ever  feels  any  different .  what  is  it  about  blue ??  he’s  so  annoying ,  yet  taeyi  always  finds  his  thoughts  circling  back  to  him .           wait .           actually  …             taeyi  is  a  relationship   psychologist  tonight .  he  knows  why  grace  left  blue ,  and  all of  a  sudden ,  he  knows  why  jia  left  him ,  too .

          if  it  weren’t  for  blue ,  taeyi  would  have  been  fine .  he  would  have  been  normal  …  no ,  it’s  just  infatuation .  lust .  that’s  what  he  keeps  telling  himself  when  he  lies  awake  at  night ,  his  hand  laying  flat  on  his  pillow ,  pretending  it’s  resting  on  blue’s  chest .  no .  you  can’t  think  about  that  right  now .  be  sad .  be  sad  that  jia  left  you  …  be  angry  at  yourself  for  the  way  you  USED  her  …  but  don’t  feel  –  whatever  the  hell  THAT  is .

          fuck ,  his  head  hurts .  so  bad  that  he  can  barely  focus  on  what  blue  is  saying .  he’s  at  a  FUCKING  disney  world  resort ,  and  yet  he’s  miserable .  on  brand .  if  blue  were  to  ask ,  taeyi  would  blame  it  on  being  a  lightweight .  but  scientifically ,  that  would  make  no  sense .  blue  might  be  dumb  ( according  to  taeyi ) ,  but  he’s  not  that  fucking  stupid .

          ❝  i’m  calling  you  a  frat  bro .  ❞  he  says .  he  keeps  his  gaze  fixed  on  the  floor .  he  has  to  avoid  blue’s  face  at  all  costs .  have  they  ever  been  this  close ??  

          hey ,  wait  a  second  –  taeyi’s  heart  freezes  as  reality  finally  dawns  on  him .  he’s  …  about  to  SPEND  THE  NIGHT  WITH  BLUE ??  FUCK !!  he  downs  his  glass  once  again ,  without  even  thinking .  and  he  doesn’t  know  what’s  coming  onto  him ,  but  he  impulsively  follows  with  a  question  :  

          ❝  …  what’s  the  dumbest  thing  you’ve  ever  done ??  ❞

blue   is,   of   course,   so   obviously   oblivious   to   any   of   taeyi’s   annoyances   towards   him.   as   far   as   he’s   concerned,   they   are   some   sort   of   strange   friends.   it’s   difficult   for   him   to   tell   when   taeyi   is   annoyed   or   aggravated,   because   frankly   he’s   quite   high-strung   and   pissy.   make   no   mistake,   these   are   both   things   he   found   himself   quite   fond   of.   something   about   opposites   attract,   or   whatever   the   books   like   to   call   it.   

the   thing   is   blue   is   rather   laid   back,   perhaps   too   easy   going   for   even   his   own   good.   there’s   hardly   a   time   that   he   thinks   things   through   if   he   isn’t   taking   a   math   test   or   something.   that   said   ----   he   could   use   a   bit   of   guidance,   a   bit   of   a   logical   conscious   that   calls   him   a   stupid   frat   boy.   

that   had   been   grace,   back   then.   

but   not   anymore.   even   he   is   unsure   where   things   had   gone   wrong.   he’d   done   everything   within   his   control   to   keep   the   girl   around,   but   she   seemed   to   slip   right   through   his   fingers   as   though   they   had   never   been   much   of   anything   to   begin   with.   and   sure,   it   had   hurt,   scrolling   through   his   instagram   feed   to   see   her   with   some   tall,   handsome,   now   billionaire   boyfriend.   yeah   -----   billionaire.   not   millionaire.   grace   upgraded   to   a   fucking   billionaire.   

blue   wasn’t   even   a   thousand-aire.   in   fact,   he’d   worked   a   mcdonald’s   management   job   for   six   months   after   graduation   before   finding   his   footing.   and   while   he   wasn’t   ashamed   and   definitely   found   his   way,   he   certainly   wasn’t   an   innovative   tech   industry   mogul.   but   anyways,   he   couldn’t   care   too   much.   the   guy   could   be   rich   now,   and   sure   he   was   tall.   but   blue   had   been   attractive   enough,   popular   enough   throughout   his   life   to   know   that   before   all   of   the   probable   hair   and   skin   treatments,   before   the   louis   vuitton   sunglasses,   that   luca   kid   was   ugly.   that’s   right.   he   was   ugly.   and   blue   wasn’t.   

so   take   that   grace   !   

the   comment   taeyi   made   makes   blue   chuckle,   leaning   backwards   on   the   bed   for   a   second   with   his   glass   before   sitting   back   up   and   taking   a   sip.   the   smell   of   wine   and   his   cologne   mix   near   his   nose   ----   mostly   because   he   wears   too   much,   but   at   least   he   doesn’t   smell.   ❝   good   point.   ❞   

the   stupidest   thing   he’s   ever   done   ?   blue   nervously   sipped   at   his   wine   and   glanced   over   at   taeyi.   he   couldn’t   exactly   tell   him   that   he   participated   in   a   hazing   process   that   had   fucking   killed   someone.   for   a   brotherhood   he   didn’t   even   adhere   to   now,   3   years   later.   not   because   it’s   shameful,   but   because   taeyi   seemed   to   be   a   skittish   individual   as   is.   he’d   probably   straight   up   call   him   a   murderer.   and   anyways,   blue   was   trying   to   move   past   that.   he   was   23   now.   not   19.   

                     as dejected as she was about having had experienced possibly one of the worst scenarios one could undergo at a wedding, daphne didn’t want to be that person to ruin a disney world trip. if their roles were reversed, she’d probably be frustrated that her best friend was moping while they were in one of the happiest places on earth. 

the dj sits up, lightly smacking his hand away as she grumbles at him: “okay, fine.” the least she could do was entertain his offer. she reaches for the glass already in his hand, downing its contents in one go before thrusting it at him with a fierce gaze. “another.” this was dangerous but she was upset, and he was right. she could drink her sorrows away and forget about everything.

blue   looks   at   his   hand   as   if   he’d   actually   been   hurt   by   the   smack.      ❝   damn,   daph...   ❞   it   hadn’t   hurt   a   single   bit,   yet   he   feigned   pain   for   her   entertainment.   and   his   own.   perhaps,   his   own   a   bit   more.   ❝   no   need   to   be   so   rough   !   ❞   now   what   he   hadn’t   been   expecting,   was   her   to   knock   the   drink   back.   then   again   ----   it   had   been   a   bit   of   a   rough   week.   more   like   an   exceptionally   rough   week.
