i remember this interview immediately after y&m where the interviewer was asking what the theme of this album was since srar and ab/ap had themes which was kind of a deep question for a pop journalist until they took petes answer "honestly, this album is mania" but wrote it 'M A N I A' because i guess they thought he was saying 'the album is the album' and not. yknow. 'this album is about mania, as in a major symptom of the mental illness i have publicly struggled with for a very long time' and idk how many people read that but i genuinely feel like that little change in formatting led some people to believe it was pete wentz being pete wentz (derogatory) and not a very clear and straightforward answer to the question. like it was literally just "the vibe is mania. like its [pete wentz esque description of a manic episode ie some of the "we are living in mania" poem] only for them to be like "haha. classic emo boy :)" it irritates me to no end
