“Do you know how you looked?” Jesper slammed the door shut with Wylan’s back. Wylan grinned up at him, the force of it sending his masquerade piece askew, the dove’s mask clattering to the floor. He knew how he looked: ruby necklace dripping down his collar, sapphire-blue sash a contrast cutting across his chest. The white kefta Nina had tailored for him flared around his waist, giving him almost the silhouette of a dress, with a neckline dipping low enough to straddle the edge of scandalous, and boots heeled high enough that his lips could brush easily along the curve of Jesper’s jaw. “Kaz told me to make an entrance,” Wylan licked his lips. Shy and bold all at once, “I think I did alright.”
