The night was cool and the streets quiet. Sonic headed back to his home letting out a tired groan as he rubbed at his sore muscles. He had been overworking and it was much later than he was expecting. He regretted not walking with someone. It was uncomfortably quiet…

“It’s dangerous to walk alone at night.” Sonic hears someone behind him causing him to jolt before quickly turning around to see no one there. It felt like the temperature dropped after hearing the mysterious voice.

Sonic takes a deep breath calming himself down before cautiously continuing his walk home. Now at a more brisk pace. “Sir?” Sonic stops. A stranger from the left of him appears out from an alley way. A hedgehog much like himself but black fur striped with red.

His golden eyes seemed to glow,

“You scared me!” Sonic said taking a step back but keeping eye contact with this stranger.

“I apologize, for startling you. I noticed you looked uncomfortable and wanted to make sure you were alright.” He said.

“Oh, yeah, I got off later than I usually do so I’m not used to walking around this late.” Sonic lightly chuckled. He didn’t know why, but he couldn’t take his eyes away from the strangers… Their glimmer in the moonlight was so beautiful…  

“Yes, walking alone is dangerous. I can escort you…” Shadow said with a soft smile holding his hand out to the blue Hedgehog.

“Walking alone is… dangerous…” Sonic repeated. His thoughts feely hazy, something wasn’t right. Why did he feel he could trust this stranger?

“Exactly. Come with me, I can take you home.” They said taking a subtle enough step back that the other didn’t notice.

The haze became mind numbing as his shoulder untense and the same golden glow from the strangers eyes began to reflect in his own. Taking a step towards the one luring him into the alley. “Take me… home?”

“If that is what you wish.” He said still holding his hand out to him. With every step he took into the alley, Sonic took two steps closer. Slowly closing the gap between them. “But that’s not what you truly want is it?” He smirked.

“Not… what I want…” Sonic’s eyes were now completely gold just like the strangers. Yes, he was right. He didn’t want to go home. Reaching towards the strangers open palm as they gently take it.

“No, you don’t want that.” They said with a hungry growl, lightly tugging the other closer. Wrapping his arm around the blue hedgehog’s waist pulling him into his embrace. “You want to stay with me, forever.”

“Stay with you, forever…” Sonic repeated. If he wasn’t so spellbound he would have been shocked to see the long fangs this stranger had before the promise was sealed with a kiss. He melts into their embrace. Now every part of him was telling him that this was right. He wanted, no, he needed to be with him. “Shadow…”

He’s taken aback for a moment not expecting to hear him say his name when it was never given. His grin softens to a look of longing. Brushing his clawed fingers through the beautiful blue fur. “So a part of you remembers even after all this time.” There’s no response from the other who was completely enthralled with a dazed smile on his face.

“I’m sorry my love. I know I promised to wait until you were ready… But I cannot watch you die again. You may hate me for a time. But we will have eternity for you to come to terms with your fate.”

Shadow kisses him again making sure that his catch had no thoughts of escape. The soft needy whimper leaving peach lips as he pulled away giving him all the confirmation he needs. Shadow tilts Sonic’s neck opening it up to him. He leans in taking in his sweet scent before quickly biting down causing the blue hedgehog to yelp.

The sharp pain he felt in his neck was enough to snap out of whatever trance he was under. He begins trying to escape the strangers grip only to feel it tighten. Then the draining and numbing sensation takes over before he could cry out for help as he goes limp in their arms. Unaware that his fate was already sealed with that kiss...
