Infinite Paths to Love
(aka, I have too many emotions about the new SVSSS extras and how they relate to my favorite themes in fiction and they spilled out into words. oops.)
Finding a narrative reason to meet with a narrative construct has the potential to be difficult. But it also has the potential to be easy, doesn’t it?
I am Reader. I’m also a writer, as you can obviously see, but I’m Reader first. And as Reader, I have a lot of relationships, of a sort, with the characters I see play out their stories and lives.
I seek out happy endings. I like to read about closure, and happy endings, and fulfillment. I like to read plotless stories about people going about their lives in their happy endings.
I like to read the ways people take sad characters and make them happy. I like to write about them, too, but I’m not as good at that as I am at reading about it, and having emotions about it.
There’s a train, running endlessly through time and space. A subway car carrying a Reader just like me, who loved a character just the way I love so many characters, how I love him. His story and mine weave together to bring him back home to the people who love him just as much as I do.
There’s a group of teen girls on another train car, trying to find balance as it veers endlessly into a future they can’t see, as they dance on a stage controlled by their desires and dreams. The director, the prime audience member, he gives his body up to fuel their future, because he loves them as much as I do. I give my time and my love to them, and I see their story through.
There’s a man in a cape and sunglasses standing above a world of his own creation, desperate to prove his existence means something. Desperate to prove that he’s more than all of the worst things he knows he could become, so sure that he will hurt those around them no matter what and desperate to prove that if that must be so then at least he can make it mean something, at least there can be a story about it.
There’s a girl who died young, stuck in conflict with him. They each want their story to mean something. Neither of them realize how many Readers, just like me, find meaning in every path they try to stamp out, who see all of the paths they choose not to take, who want, more than anything, for both of them to find peace. There is more to a story than meaning. The meaning is in the story itself.
There is a man, lonely and tired. He has burned himself up for the chance that some other version of himself can be happy. He has watched and waited and worked to see if there is any version of him that can still be him that is happy and safe and loved.
He is saved by a Reader, just like me. One who sees him and knows him and chooses to love him anyway. Who chooses to love him at his most insane, obsessive, and manipulative. At his most damaged, hurt, and lonely. Who sees the loving and devoted man underneath.
Their story is read by and expanded by other Readers and Writers, like me.
There are so many versions of you that are loved, Luo Binghe. May you continue to find happiness, in the worlds we explore and create for you.
one of my favorite things ever is bucky being all "how can any body love me with my metal arm" and reader being like "bitch optimus prime is literally my hear me out"
It's a funny thing. Breakups. And writing. ...
So I posted some of that trafalgar law fic right. The self indulgent for shits and giggles one.
And there is smut cause I thought hey I've only written smut once before and I felt weird cause I didn't feel like an overly sexual being you know.
Well, turns out it was the ex's fault and he was just icky to me sexually 😂 cause I've actually written a fair amount of saucy stuff for law.
It might be shit, but I did it none the less 😂
the dave york and reader i’m writing with @absurdthirst right now have me all heart eyes. she loves him so much 🩷

Hello there!
Umm I have a super self-indulgent one that I will never share but have spoken to @in-silks-and-flesh-and-leather about.
I even made a moodboard for it.
Wizard!Clyde Logan x Witch!Reader
They are married and very much an American version of the Weasleys!
RC is a very skilled witch who is madly enough with her husband, Clyde. He’s so much like Mr. Weasley in that he loves muggle/no-mage artifacts and folklore. He’s always able to debunk things that are attributed to meddling beasts. He personally knows Bigfoot and they had a good laugh at his retelling of the his infamous sighting.
They dote over each other endlessly while living in their modest cottage that is perfect for them and tucked away in the woods.
Anywho, I have a bunch of other thoughts but I’ll keep them to myself. It all lives rent free in my mind.
Thank you for asking!
