How much fluff is too much?

So I seem to have misplaced my tablet... yeah. I could probably find it again, but this seems like an opportunity to get some advice out there. If I were to buy a new tablet / drawing device, what should I get?
Here's the deal... I had a Bamboo Create Pen & Touch ( the older one ) and I liked it, considering that is the only model I have ever tried.
I have heard the Intuos family is pretty good... ?
I also looked at the Cintiq display and think it's pretty nifty...
and the Inklings pen thing, because I want to try that so bad.....
So what's your advice?
