While the sky may have cleared up, the lack of power still gave a very lonely, eerie feeling to the city. It was a feeling that Pearl absolutely despised, given that they were already dreading going through the process of having to meet so many new weirdos all over again. And where was Marina? It had been several hours; the inkling was sure she would of seen her by now. If she was even here...
Maybe she should just... look for the place with the most fancy technology that she could find. A place like that was bound to attract the octoling DJ if she was around here somewhere. With that thought in mind, determination to find her co-star had her moving with rapid speed through the streets, only barely pausing to try and read broken-down signs on just as busted buildings as her short little legs rushed over the ground.
Unfortunately, even after what felt like forever, Pearl couldn’t find a good spot to wait for her. Too many things were in complete ruins. Even if there was a building that was formerly filled with the type of technology Marina loved, it was just that; formerly. Now, everything was just a crumpled mess.
Slumping down onto her bottom on a rubble-filled street corner, Pearl leaned back against the wall. closing her eyes and trying to fight back against the overwhelming hopelessness rising in her chest. While she wasn’t typically one to cry too easily or become sorrowful in general, she couldn’t stand the idea that she might be here alone.Â
Alone... what a horrible thought. And with that thought, a single tear did indeed slip down her cheek.
