Hey welcome to ramble. Let’s autism together
These are just some of my thoughts about episode one, specifically Robert’s coma. Here I’m assuming the actual harsh landing (i.e, huge freaking explosion) was what caused his coma and the bomb detonating simply knocked him unconscious as he fell from the sky in a ball of fire.
Remember though, in the comic issue #3 Get Up, the end features him standing on his own. Not fine but not really in a coma either. (Enjoy the sparkly banners around the sad picture)
Maybe the coma was caused because of the significant trauma to his head; a google search suggests that a brief period of confusion can serve as the transition between the traumatic event and falling into a coma. The other option that makes the most sense is it being medically onset, because he clearly didn’t find himself in the coma immediately after the fall.
But picture this.
If he had the energy to get up, that obviously means he thinks he has the energy to walk.
And he will try to keep going. He will drag himself to the hospital, bystanders asking if he needs help but falling on deaf ears.
His head swims and he knows he can’t fix this with a few hours on his lawn chair and coffee. Federal laws such as EMTALA ensure that hospitals must provide emergency care to a patient even if no information is able to be provided. Though, everyone knows who walked into the hospital and fell on his face unconscious. The city’s hero, Mechaman. The news story got buried under the excitement of him waking up a few months later, but it definitely unnerved the public.
