oh man, i know exactly what you mean. i’ve rewatched succession sooo many times in the past year and i just want some new content. i was so excited when we started hearing they were back to filming but now who knows. last i heard the goal was to release s3 in late 2021 but that was barring any COVID delays or issues which...yeah. it’s Not Great, Bob. 

in the mean time last week i buried myself in like a dozen different succession fics to distract myself from the absolute misery of no new eps

019. what’s your favorite character headcanon? i mean... THIS IS SO HARD?? there are so many shows and characters i love, how do i choose?? let me think for a minute... 

OKAY! i’m going with one that’s kind of random—the west wing. specifically toby and cj. 

i GENUINELY have a headcanon (that i am like half convinced was the writer’s canon but they never explicitly inserted it into the show) that toby and cj dated pre-canon. like??? they just know each other SO WELL. and when the show does the flashback to show how the team all got together for jed’s first campaign and toby was the one who went out to california to get cj?? like, okay, clearly the writers were doing a little retconning bc when they went to hollywood cj was totally starstruck which Does Not make sense if she was was a talent agent or pr manager to the stars or whatever. BUT I DIGRESS. my point is there was always just something so wonderfully intimate about toby and cj’s relationship? and the way they interact with each other, the way he looks at her when she’s soaking wet from the pool, the way they find private moments to apologize or comfort each other? how much he loves the jackal?? THE HAND TO THE HEART THING? i love them so much and i headcanon so hard that they were romantically a couple and then eventually split due to mutual mature adult reasons and managed to maintain their friendship with each other and be those exes who never acknowledge they’re exes but still love each other fiercely

019. is there something you always find yourself repeating in your writing? (favourite verb, something you describe ‘too often’, trope you can’t get enough of?) OH MAN YES. a couple. “a smile tugs at his lips” is like my go to way to describe a smile and it is FUCKING ANNOYING i need to learn how to describe it differently lol

025. what part of writing is the most fun? lol, is it terrible if i say finishing something? i don’t know if it’s the most FUN but it feels sooo good to actually produce something and see the evidence of your work (even like, when it’s a 20 page research paper or something). but i guess if we’re talking “most fun” i enjoy writing dialogue—i’m terrible at describing what’s happening and whatever, but i think i’ve got an ear for dialogue (probably bc of my love for theatre and movies/tv etc where dialogue carries so much of the weird of the story) 

004. what show/book/movie etc was your comfort and/or escape this year? 911 and succession were obviously my two big fandoms in terms of gifmaking, though i think i rewatched succession more often. but i found more comfort via fanfic which was mainly 911 and teen wolf.

014. what do you want to do more of next year? write more fic!! i LIKE writing, but i'm not great at buckling down and getting it done. especially when i get distracted by gifmaking. i like gifs, and i love when i make a great gifset, but i feel more satisfied after finishing a fic.
