My second large project for Portfolio! This time a dust cover project for my second favorite novel of all time: Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis. This was a rather ambitious project that took forever and a day to complete but I am extremely proud of it! Printed version did not come out with accurate colors but I actually like how it looks. Adds a different feel to it that I think somehow works.
I chose to illustrate the scene in the book in which Ransom and Hyoi fight the hnakra, a terrifying sea creature who's design I had to completely make up because the book offered little descriptions and there are so few fan art interpretation online.
