“It is scary!” Braydon’s standing in front of the latter with a frown tugging at the corner of his lips. He had stepped out of the dressing room clad in a plaid shirt, overalls, and a sack over his head. In his right hand held the cheap plastic knife that tied his whole ‘farmer gone a rampage’ concept for the up and coming holiday. “You stole my corn and I’ll steal your life- isn’t it great?” His smile faltered soon after the realization hit him; he was more of a joke than scary and he promptly turned around and made his way back to his dressing room.

       “I already know what you’re thinking- and I agree.” He calls out five minutes later. The journey for the scariest costume of the season was proving to be a difficult challenge.

baekhyun had to bite his lower lip to refrain from laughing, finding more amusement in how serious braydon actually was about his costume rather than the disguise itself. he refrained from commenting besides a wave of hand followed by an extremely amused shrug, and when braydon’s voice came from inside the dressing room again, baekhyun couldn’t hold back his laughter anymore. “i’m sorry, just- it’s so good. it’s honestly so good.” he  says in between his light laughing, shaking his head a little to himself as he leans against the wall, awaiting the taller and the very difficult task of costume choosing. “i’d say you would rock a vampire look, but that’s kinda overused by now, isn’t it? maybe a mummy, but the idea of going around covered in bandages or toilet paper isn’t exactly appealing, mh.”

     Baekhyun let out a prolonged breath of air as he tapped the toe of his designer shoe against loose gravel in an impatient rhythm, knee jumping every now and then in jittery enthusiasm despite the slight aggravation grating at his nerves. He glanced at the crowd in front of him before directing his gaze to the phone laid out beside him, pressing at the home screen to check the clock for the umpteenth time since he had decided to sit himself down on the corner of the sidewalk. Time seemed to be stretching on far too long, as it always did when he was waiting for something, but he felt like his backside was going to end up being concave from sitting on it for so long at this rate.

     “I knew we should have gotten here earlier.” He bemoaned to his companion for what was at least the seventh time as he cocked his head up, brows furrowed together and lips down-turned in a sulky pout to express his discontent as he turned his gaze on the male. “If we had arrived this morning like I said we should have then there wouldn’t be this many people in front of us!” He huffed out the words with scrutiny in his eyes before turning his head away, scanning the line of people that stood in front of the amphitheater before them once more.

     He knew his actions were most likely bordering on obsessive-compulsive now, but it wasn’t his fault when the gates to the venue were about to open any minute. Somehow, Baekhyun had roped the other male into not only accompanying him to the girl group concert he had been dying to see-- “really, I will die right now if you don’t buy those tickets, Braydon“ He had threatened said just a few days prior-- but in also purchasing pit tickets too. Tickets that just so happened to be 50,000 won more than the other seating they could have gotten. He’d say his persuasion tactics were definitely the reason why he wasn’t here alone or in the boondocks.

“My face looks funny?” Braydon questioned; a stoic and puzzled expression crossing over his features as he studied the female under his scrutinizing gaze. “… Standing… standing bitch face.” The female had muttered, but his mind had blanked out midway through the sentence. “Did you just call me a… bitch?” He clenched down on his jaw, refusing to let his anger bubble over; his little eye twitch was evidence of how hard he was trying to contain himself. He met this girl probably five minutes ago and she had already insulted him. (But she didn’t. Braydon’s just oblivious.) But somewhere along the line of selectively tuning in and out of what the female had to say, he smiled. “You’re kind of interesting. What’s your name?”

“I didn’t mean to! I mean, I don’t even know you, how could I call you something like that? I just meant you look kind of grumpy when you just stand there. I’m sorry, so sorry, I shoudn’t have said a thing, I’ll just--”

She paused when he asked her name. There was something off about him. She had a way of insulting the men she just met, and this one had seemed particularly displeased with her, but now he was suddenly smiling at her. She was interesting? That was both an overstatement and understatement at once.
