#Gallopanth #Gallagos #hydrothermic Gallagos has little in the way of flora or fauna, and what does exist must be incredibly hardy to survive. All plants on Gallagos exist underwater, within its intensely heated geyser systems. The Gallopanth is the only creature on Gallagos known to leave the water itself, basking in the coolness provided by the shade from rock formations, and sustaining themselves on the oxygen carried from the water into the atmosphere during hydrothermic eruptions. The Gallopanth is blind, as all creatures on Gallagos are (for no creature's eyes could survive those tempuratures). Instead they find their way around using their sensitive tongues, which serve the double purpose of sifting out nutrients within the water, which they then feed into it's gaping maw. Gallopanths survive on a diet of water-borne nutrients, crustaceans in the geyser systems, and salts from the rocks on land which help build up their thick, rocky underbellies. A Gallopanth can survive in a Geyser for up to an hour, but even it's thick, leathery scales and rocky underbelly will not prevent it from dying if its own blood boils after too long in the hot watery environment. They will usually exit the water after about 45 minutes.
