29. What is one of the most courageous things your character has ever done for a loved one?

Anatole

I was going to separate this between apprentice and non apprentice timeline, but you know what? I think I won’t. This is because while everyone probably expects something he’s done for a single person he loves, his biggest love is Vesuvia.

He’s done a lot for Vesuvia, not that he thinks he’s special for it.

So when he’s not the apprentice, he does step up to become the Consul, knowing his life will be fully in the public eye, that this is something he has to choose everyday. Like he loves his partners, and every day he makes the choice to be the best he can be, and if he has a bad day to try again tomorrow, he has to do that same choice with politics.

In his apprentice timeline I was going to say dying for Vesuvia, but still, both of these things look over the fact he decided to stay and help during the Plague. He came to Vesuvia with the decision to serve it, and he did. Whatever the consequence, when things are done in love, love conquers all things.

Amparo

This one is also Plague related.

It’s nursing Anzano Ventura, her grandparent, in their deathbed during the Plague. Amparo did not let her parents do it, she insisted on doing it herself. In her apprentice timeline, this is how she contracts the Plague.

Could also count standing with Anatole in times of dissent, and dancing in the streets in Vesuvia during the Plague, to bring people some joy, but none of these compare to her resolute determination to not let Anzano die alone.

45. Is your character the kind to hide their true emotions or do they wear their heart on their sleeve?

Anatole

He’s a Scorpio, what do you think that makes him?

He knows what he wants and once he admits things to himself there’s no going back. Anatole is very, very honest, and his honesty is a choice.

However, honesty does not mean he will reveal that truth to everyone. He’s very private about his personal life and it shows. However, if you know him and he trusts you, he leans more towards the heart in his sleeve side.

Professionally, his debonair charm becomes his footing, so his intentions are less likely to come forward, tho he will not deny them. It’s imply a matter of profession, saying everything makes you a bad negotiator, and revealing too much of yourself in a scenario where it is neither necessary nor advisable, foolish. Except for injustice, gross incompetence and abuse of power, even if he shows annoyance, the new Consul seems to take everything in stride. Everything is workable.

Just don’t piss him off. He’s slow to anger, but doesn’t mean you want to witness it.

Amparo

Amparo’s a weird mix because dear Gods, Amparo is forward. Amparo has opinions and you will listen to them, however she’s right in the middle. Her emotions are apparent, but that doesn’t mean she’ll let you know what’s going on with her.

She doesn’t often let you see to which extent. It does make her a very colourful speaker, however.

But she’s a dancer, an artist, and she feels things so very deeply: so whenever she is in the scale, what she feels, she feels. So her emotions always end up pulling forward in some way, and she doesn’t believe in repressing them, she prefers to find an outlet for them. They are fires she can kindle or gently put out.

Emotions are a good way to know the world around you, an inevitable way, even.

When Lucio is sad - 

Drexxel can hardly stand to see him so downtrodden, but he can feel it before he can see it. Something in the air around him changes and it wont be long until it starts to show. And when it does, he know’s there’s only two ways to solve it. The first way, laughter. If possible, he will get Lucio to sit down. When he does, Drexxel will kneel down in front of him, and start making funny faces until he laughs. If the faces don’t work, he’ll start cracking as many terrible cringy jokes as possible. The second way, is simply listening. He will lace his fingers between Lucio’s and lean against him. 

“Talk to me.” He’ll say. “I’m here. I’m listening.”

When Drexxel is sad - 

His sadness is almost exclusively behind closed doors. He doesn’t like worrying people with his ‘less desirable’ emotions. By now, Lucio knows this. He knows that his emotions slap him in waves and the crying will happen whether he likes it or not. But Drexxel hates letting anyone see him cry, even Lucio.

Apprentice/Librarian Lyra:

She had to put her back into it, for their sakes…

She looked back, seeing her mother wrapped in a blanket. In her mother’s arms was a small bundle, who was wailing in the cold morning.

The teenager gritted her teeth, turning back to face forward. She had to row faster, faster-!

In the distance, fast approaching the mouth of the widening river, was the boat they needed to get on.

The teenager put her back into it, and for a blessed moment, she felt the water around them adjust, allowing her better traction to move them forward.

There was only room for two more. Only two more mouths were able to be fed.

In her mind, the decision was easy. Despite the fact her mother claws at the shirt on her back, despite the fact her cousins and grandparents pleaded with her to not go, the young teenager simply shook her head.

Useless Headcanons I have

I am aware this is very canon concept but like--I love it so much. It’s wholesome. Lucio adores animals.

All kinds of animals.

Why? Because of affection, little cuddle buddies who love him no matter what!

Honestly what he needs in a partner too

Also, he has a strong connection with the kinds of animals (like heckin’ doggos) who follow him around everywhere.

iiiinteresting o:her silver bracelet is one; it’s silver and engraved on the inside with a little star. silver’s used for protection during travels in some cases, too, so i think she probably picked it up from a merchant one day when she felt a pull to it and just wears it around all the time now.she has a little blue velvet pouch embroidered with two silver goldfish that she carries tucked in her tunic, and inside of it is a small moonstone amulet she was given by her aunties and three gold coinsat the shop, tucked away where not even asra could find it, is a small chest she’s had longer than she can remember. inside are a set of runestones made of obsidian and a hair ornament that she doesn’t know the origin of. it’s a comb made of blue coral, and set atop it is a gold circle made to look like a half-moon, the upper half in gold and the lower half set with blue coral carved to look like cresting waves. it’s actually an ornament that belonged to her sister that she managed to keep with her, but she doesn’t remember. she just knows she keeps it hidden for some reason and it’s very special to her.

esther is good at soothing magic, really; she can make anybody feel good if she sings to them ; w;her element (in the base 4) is water, and her magic is calming, renewing, and healing. she likes making charms with embroidery and if she sings while she’s making anything to eat or drink it’s probably going to be the best thing you’ve ever tasted c;
