The Ascians summon Zodiark. Alright. But then they need to fuel him with more aether and more life - alright. So far so canon, right? 

What if - bear with me here - the WoL was an influential citizen of Amaurot, who didn’t speak out against the initial summoning, but now wishes to fight the further “fueling” of said primal? What if there was a group of people, who had been opposing these measures from begin on. A group of twelve people labeled as the equivalent of eco-terrorists, who are trying everything in their power, to stop Zodiark and his supporters. 

Amaurot!WoL decides to finally make their move and approaches these twelve, offering support for their cause and they, starved of power to do anything, accept. In the end, they cannot stop the sacrificing of their people to Zodiark, but they finally decide to go to further lengths to combat the threat: Summon their own primal. 

While the twelve provide aether from within them and the surrounding land, the Amaurot!WoL summons the deity called Hydaelin into themselves. While this happens, the Paragons of the Source Lahabrea, Emet-Selch and Elidibus try to fight their way through the twelve, to stop the summoning, but they do not make it. Hydaelin appears, Zodiark gets destroyed and we have the fourteen pieces in place. 

Hydaelin then retreats into the planet to beginn repairing the damage done to it. 

The twelve were close to Hydaelin, which is why they are unsundered. They beginn to rebuild the planet, helping newly developing life to establish, cleaning up the ravaged landscapes after the hell they had before. This is where the creation myth comes from, because those Twelve come to be revered by the new life as their benevolent gods. 

What they did not anticipate though, is the survival of the Paragons they had previously fought. And Lahabrea, Elidibus and Emet-Selch beginn to kill the twelve - one after another. Never meeting them in open combat, but tricking them and fighting them in situations, which benefit them. 

With the death of the last of the twelve, the three paragons usher in the first calamity. 

To fight them, Hydaelin summons her the Amaurot!WoLs soul to be reborn in a new body, every time she feels like a calamity is near. Similar to what Minfillia did on the first - being reborn repeatedly without memories of their former life, only to be called upon as Hydaelins champion, if they are needed. However, with their soul being sundered, too, they are not strong enough to stop six calamities. 

15 years before the beginning of ARR, Emet-Selch finalizes his plans to attack Hydaelin directly: He has found out, which she is slumbering deep beneath Silvertear lake, sustained by a large amount of aether. He sends the Agrius to deal with its protector, Midgarsormr. The ensuing battle sets free huge amounts of aether and Lahabrea begins to prepare the seventh calamity. 

Hydaelin, now weaker and depleted of aether, already summoned her champion’s soul from the life stream years ago; since she felt that a calamity was overdue. But they awaken too late and the seventh calamity takes place, almost killing the champion. 

But Hydaelin is too weak to resummons them if they die there. Therefore, she pleads with Louisoix and enables him to safe the champion, sending them into a time that is safe for them. For now. 

And this is where ARR begins. 

I don’t know how many facts I have ignored for this or how good this fits into the canon. But my brain didn’t let me think about anything else for an hour so I just wanted to get it out of my head!
