It is actually quite trivial, but sometimes it's good to be reminded of that the setting and location of a show really can make a difference.
I was lucky to see Metronomy twice last year. First as the headliner of the Field Day Saturday in London's Victoria Park. The very same place where some of the band members used to play football as kids. So it was no doubt a special moment for the band to enter the stage while the sun was setting, in front of a packed park.
Compared to that, the Sunday afternoon slot at the Hurricane Festival in Germany a few weeks later was probably more like another day at the office.
But a sunny afternoon in the countryside also can be pleasant. It looks like it was a good day at work.
