hunter and their older sibling were taken from their home when they were 5 years old. they weren't quite sure what was happening or the situation they were in, just that they were going to live in a new place with their sibling. for 5 years hunter and their sibling bounced from different foster homes until they were separated by the time hunter was 10 years old. they hadn't seen them since then.
winding up alone in the system, hunter had to quickly develop a hard exterior as they no longer had their older sibling to help defend them. it was during this time that hunter began to get into a lot of fights, making them a defiant child. with all the uncertainty of their every day life, hunter had never felt more confused or alone in their life and resorted to fighting and rebellion to consolidate their feelings. many homes refused to take them in or wound up trying to find other placements for them since they didn't get along with other children in the house.
they aged out of the system at 18 and had barely graduated college so when they got out they traveled to many different places. it was years before hunter ended up in denver, colorado on a whim after hearing about an open position at the tattoo parlor. though they came in with a hard exterior they made friends with bowie and slowly opened up to the few people in that circle.

CHARACTER - BIOGRAPHY
Umar and Isla were young lovers. It was something that their parents forbid for the longest time, especially since Umar was supposed to find a woman and marry her before creating a family. The two of them dated in secret at first but then Isla became pregnant and they didn't know what to do. They decided that instead of going to their parents, Umar and Isla fled from France and went to Toronto.
They gave birth to Hunter and they didn't even name her before they decided that they needed to give her up because they wanted to make sure that she was raised by people who wee ready and mature enough to be parents. It was probably the smartest decision that the young couple made but they regret it at times because they went on to have other kids, but felt like they had given up on what helped them remain together, Hunter.
While another couple were visiting Toronto, they had found Hunter who was now eight months old. They fell in love with her smile and they decided that they wee going to adopt her and bring her home. It was a process to get Hunter to be a citizen of the US but they were able to do it and they loved her every step of the way.
