The idea behind Roulette as a character is that she is supposed to be like those hardworking and overly stressed salarymen/office ladies in their 20s. Maybe they have dreams, or maybe have had them once. Instead of pursuing those dreams though they’ve decided to trade them for a stable income and somewhat stable future. Dreams are called dreams for a reason - not everyone can bring food to the table through them.

Roulette is a bit of a nutcase so the prolonged stress along with a certain event would potentially bring her to the state she is depicted in the second and third sketches.

I really like contrast in characters. The difference between how they look and act, what they show outside and what they truly feel inside. Roulette is basically my fave because of that, but I’m not gonna get into every detail of her potential final design.

What I’ve had in mind for Roulette is that her base form would be just office-y - simple but perhaps dull. The glasses and especially her hair kind of play into a prim and proper look, while cardigans and shawls in my mind make her design a bit more cozy (and also grandma-like). The ID badge is modelled after Chai’s Armstrong pass (which is never used in the game I think so I thought what better way to use other than make an outfit more office-y).

The moment those design elements are shed you get the rough and tough look - long disheveled hair, arms open and ready for action, that cold yet ferocious glint in her eyes. Aaaaaaand along with Roulette you get a big and cool mecha axe cuz what else can make the look more metal and brutal? I love when a beautiful lady can actually kill (me).
