While on hiatus I’ve managed to see a lot of people hanging out with their kids (or ignoring them, as it happens). It’s gotten me to think about Chai and Ru, or specifically how they would feel about having kids.
I legit don’t know. On the surface it might seem like Roulette would be a traditionalist and have a family, but that’s actually not entirely the case. From her own experience of helping her mother raise her younger sibling (with at least a 11+ age gap between them) she knows that having kids is not a walk in the park. I think Ru would be more than okay with not having kids for the rest of her life.
Chai very obviously feels like a freedom seeking guy and not one to settle down that easily (if at all). With big dreams that may or may not get realised would he even think about having offspring? Would he even have time to help raise them and actively participate in their lives? If Chai manages to become a legit rockstar and tour around the world, what would he do if he were to have kids?
So I don’t think Chai and Ru would feel the need to actually have kids. If they were to ever get to that point I think lots of thought would be put into it. Maybe Chai would be the one to ask the question first, having seen Ru help out some random parent or be kind (or playful) with kids.
(Ru is def the type to listen to a toddler go “buabua gaba gaba” and say “With the current economic state of society we’re in I cannot help but agree”.)
Although, Chai feels very much like a girl dad, so if him and Ru were to have kids (adopted or not), I think they would have names like Rosemary and Camellia (like sinensis). Also those names sound “flowery” and “edible” enough to prob be used in-universe.

I really like Chai and CNMN, though there's not a single character in this game I outright don't like. I also like making OCs to fill vacant roles in Vandelay Technologies (since I work in a spice/tea processing plant, I have a lot of name inspiration). I'm also always down to talk about basically anything regarding the game.
No idea what this blog might entail. Art probably, maybe writing? And likely a lot of assorted discussuon posting. I have very specific headcanons on Chai's disability and generally adore theorycrafting on everyone's favorite rockstar.
