You were in the middle of dealing with Drysdale’s and Washford’s entire…situation. “Self-sworn-in marriage counselor” you would describe yourself to be. Unfortunately, however, you had to make a rain check on that, as when you went to examine one of them with your dateviators…

A gorgeous-looking woman appeared in front of you instead of the GILF you were expecting.

So now, for the past 15 minutes, you have been conversing with the embodiment of…well you didn’t know what exactly, but nevertheless you were enjoying yourself. After all the women in front of you stood with the confidence of one of those Brazilian carnival women. She was shiny and pretty, and everything you’ve ever wanted, really. 

Your time with the dateviators had been great—more than great even. It’s the most amount of social interaction you’ve had in a while! But despite having “date” in the name…you haven’t found yourself eager for one. None of the datables were quite your style, and you’ve begun fearing that this would be hopeless.

That was until you met Lucinda Lavish.

“I can reward you amply~” Lucinda’s voice drops into a lower tone as she leans in closer to you. Her hands were placed to accentuate her bosom.

Your eyes quickly look down, curious at what she was doing. But just as they did, they found her eyes again. This seems to make Lucinda smile wider.

“Amply~” She emphasizes.

You couldn’t exactly tell what she was getting at, but she seemed just as eager as you, “Reward?” you ask tentatively.

“Yeah~” She purrs, “Anything you want~”

You think about it for a second. Anything? Well…if that were the case…

“Can we go on a date?” You ask with an excited smile on your lips.

Lucinda buffers for a second, “I—uhm…”

“I mean if you want—” You emphasize, “We can always just hang out here—whatever you want!”

Lucinda’s brow furrows, her eyes squinting, “I mean—I was offering a little cop and feel. But sure a date—what were you thinking? Maybe a visit to a motel? Naked twister?”

“Talking!”

“...talking?”

You nod your head eagerly to the dismay of the women in front of you.

“I mean there’s not much there—uh.” She has to think for a moment, “...you sure you don’t want me to just talk to you sexy?”

“The only talking I would enjoy would be talking about you!”

She seems to get a bit irritated at that, scoffing as she turns away. You blink, most definitely confused. Don’t people usually like talking about themselves? She seemed way more into the former option of sexy talk.

You step a bit closer to her, “Are you mad I don’t wanna be sexual with you?” you ask genuinely, “Cause if that’s the case—I mean I can try—”

“No. That’s already passed.” She sighs gently, “...Why do you want what I want?”

Was that a bad thing to do? Putting the person’s needs you wanna get with ahead of yours?

“Because I want you to feel important?” you shrug, “I mean I’m not very good at this dating stuff but you seem interesting…and you're really pretty…I wanna know you.”

She blinks, before looking away, “I guess I’m not used to that.”

You move to take her hand into yours, “I’d be willing to get you used to it?”

That gets her red, it’s a blush that didn’t even appear when she was all sensual before.

“You’re…forward.”

You look away confused for a second, was this really more forward than inviting someone to touch your boobs?

“I’ll proudly be forward if it means I get to know more about it.”

Her cheeks reddened even more, “But what if there isn’t anything?”

“We can figure you out together then.”

Immediately you feel your face being covered by her hands as an embarrassed shout comes from her.

I was really inspired by that one scene in Inside Job with Brett unionizing and legalizing sex work. Uhm I like Miss.Lavish and I hope I did her a bit of justice!

It had been almost a month since Ada had left the city for a business trip for “Something or other,” all the way out of the country. 

You couldn’t complain much, as when she was away for business, she’d leave her penthouse and credit cards for you to use freely. She’d tell you to spend to your heart's content…as if that was a stand-in for her being in your life. 

Okay, you were a bit bitter about the whole thing. You’re allowed, right?

“Merci.” You speak to the shop clerk, grabbing the box on the counter.

You had expected another night alone in the big, empty apartment. Marble floors could only keep you so warm. Another round of watching Love Island alone, eating pastries as a substitution for actual dinner, and finishing the night with doom scrolling till you pass out.

All activities you knew Ada would disdain.

Call it your own little rebellion, because lord knows you’re too sensible to spend more than a cent of what you need with the money Ada had given you access to.

That’s your own fault. Unfortunately for you, you’re not used to having everything taken care of. It makes you feel strange, spoiled. Not in a banana, ‘the riper the sweeter’ way, if not a cake way, the moment you cut into it, the moment you indulge, it hardens and crumbles into a texture akin to gravel. It makes you sick if you think about it too long. 

In the elevator, you think about it all. You don’t pity yourself or even detest your life. The woman you love isn’t cruel; hell, she isn’t even unavailable. She just wasn’t present. There was a difference, and it was important. As much as she could shower you with gifts and money, it didn’t make you feel as good as if you were spending quality time with her. You guessed it was just a matter of a difference in love language. You guessed it was something you could work out. But right now, with the box in your hand, you feel defeated, not mad at either you or her…just at the situation. You can’t expect anything else from her, obviously. While she kept her job on the down low, you knew it was important and high-paying enough for all the luxuries that surrounded her. You could never ask her to change her schedule or work hours, lord knows that women would go stir crazy from not working.

The idea makes you smile just a bit. Your lover was such a workaholic that you even imagined her working after retirement…the frail old lady she’d become, and she’d still lug around responsibility like she had a debt to pay.

The doors of the elevator open to the wide living room of Ada’s penthouse. You would expect to be greeted by the empty flat…instead. “I figured you’d be out…” A familiar, calm voice greets you in the echo of the apartment. Your heart leaps immediately, any melancholy replaced by excitement.

“Ada!” you say back as you place down the box of goodies before walking towards the sound of her voice. You trail towards her bedroom quickly, almost impatient to see her face again.

In front of you sat Ada, lying next to her was a basket of goodies and a tiny package. You ignore any of it and quickly move to hug her tightly. You feel her slender hands finding their home on the small of your back.

“I thought you weren’t gonna be back till the 30th..” You mumble into her hair.

“I couldn’t leave you for that long,” She retorts gently, moving to look at your face. You smile softly at that before leaving her a tiny peck. She keeps her gaze lingering on you as if trying to soak in everything she’s missed for the past month.

You can’t help but giggle gently, your chest blooming with shyness in her eyesight, “What’s wrong?”

“You’re gorgeous,” She whispers. The compliment only causes you to pull her into another kiss.

As she pulls away, she looks to her left, “I brought you some gifts from my trip.”

"You didn't have to—"

"I wanted to." She cuts you off before you can even complain. You give a tiny huff before continuing.

“Where’d you go this time?” You muse, settling next to her on the bed.

“Just around the corner…to Dubai.” She shrugs as if it were just that normal.

“Oh my god!!” You laugh, squeezing her hand.

Ada moves to kiss you on the cheek, “You wanna stay inside tonight? Or celebrate? I can get us into La Renommée without a reservation.”

“I think I’d like that,” you say gently, looking at her with adoration.

“Better than what you were gonna eat tonight, hm?” She teases gently. Your eyes widen at that, she couldn’t possibly know—

“I know they’re delicious, but you can’t live off pain au chocolat and madeleines…” She chuckles softly.

You blush, feeling caught in your rebellion, “A woman can dream…”

“Pretty girl, I need you alive after 40.” She jokes as she pulls away to grab a box, “We can wait to open the rest, but this one cannot.” She hands you the box. It’s shallow but long; you couldn’t possibly imagine what's inside.

Ada nudges you to open it up. Gently, you pull on the bow at the top, and the ribbon comes undone, finally giving you access to the contents. It’s a sundress, it’s white and flowy with little colorful flowers embroidered on the collar. The material is thin, a bit off for the weather at the moment..

“Oh, it’s gorgeous.” You say softly, lifting it up to examine it.

“There’s more.” She nods.

You give her a questioning look before you spot a card at the back of the lid. You open it carefully…

“No..” You say, a smile fighting its way onto your lips.

“Yes..” She was amused at your reaction.

“But what about—”

“I asked for some time off, I mean, back-to-back work trips are too much even for me,” She says gently, “I know it was killing you too.” Her voice is remorseful now, and her hand moves to yours.

You feel a rush of emotions flood into your chest, the idea that she felt bad about not being present as well, almost made your heartbreak more. You just nod, before leaning into her shoulder, immediately she wraps her hands around you, “I know, honey, I know.” She whispers to you. She doesn’t say sorry directly, but you understood she was even without it.

“Hey…” She says, pulling away and wiping your tears gently, “There’s something else in there…it’ll make you happy, I promise.”

You nod with a sniffle, lifting up the paper covering the bottom of the box. It was a lacy set of lingerie with a tag saying, “also for the vacation ;)”

Immediately, your face reddens, “Ada!!” 

She just giggles softly.

I love Ada Wong. I also need so much more fluff content about her. Don't get me wrong smut is chill too but like...I WANNA BE HER WIFE. HC: Ada proposes during the trip. also if she ever has kids she'll be like one of those rich lesbian moms.

“You know- it’s been ages since we’ve been like this?” Bathsheba whines petulantly. She clings to the arms that you have around her. Currently, the two of you are sharing a bath. It’s a weekly ritual you’ve adopted to be able to relax with one another. It was something intimate and yet fit for the queen you have in your arms right now.

“It’s only been about 5 days.” You giggle softly as you take hold of her hands.

“It needs to be more frequent.” She scoffs softly. Her head lays gently against your chest as she looks up at you. Her eyes are filled with a secluded warmth despite her fussing.

The way she yearns for your attention even unconsciously makes your head feel a bit lighter. Is it selfish of her to want you all to herself? Most certainly. But do you ever really complain? Not at all.

Your finger twirls a strand of her dark hair into a coil as you meet her gaze, “Don’t you think if we do this more often, it’ll spoil the magic?”

Bathsheba’s eyes shy away from yours, a blush finding itself against her rich brown skin, “I just can’t help—never mind...” She mumbles, moving to partially hide her face between your breasts.

Your eyes soften into concern as you squeeze her hand, “What's wrong?” you ask her lightly.

“There’s nothing wrong!” She mumbles, “After all, there shouldn’t be anything disturbing someone like me—not even something as petty as—” She cuts herself off before she can say anything else.

“What, like what?” your hands move to rub up and down her upper arms as if to warm her from her cold thoughts. She gives a sigh as she turns her body to be straddling you. Her hands are on your shoulders as she settles back down. She still looks hesitant to speak but she finally does.

“Like being…I can’t even describe—” She huffs softly.

“Well, try?” Your hand moves to hold her cheek.

Her eyes soften before she relents, “I hate that you take a shower most days. It makes me think that you prefer it to our dates.”

“‘Sheba…” You say gently, your thumb rubbing in a back-and-forth motion against her skin.

“Yes…yes! It’s petty.” She rolls her eyes, “And it’s not as if I'm jealous—god no! Not when my competition is Johnny!! Right–right?” The last part is said with a bit of uncertainty as if she didn’t know if she should be that confident.

You roll your eyes lovingly as you laugh, “No you shouldn’t be worried about me being into Johnny—not cause he’s any bad but— ‘Sheba.”

Her eyes focus back onto you, flecks of insecurity dancing in her eyes.

“You shouldn’t take my love in doubt…” you say to her gently, “I’d be a fool to waste someone like you. You know that.”

A smile forms on her lips, “Well if you insist.” She gives a flatter giggle, acting the tiniest bit shy. You cut off her giggle by pulling her into a tender kiss.

As you pull away, Bathsheba continues laughing.

“Now, how about I show you how special you are to me?” You say sweetly.

She nods swiftly, wrapping her arms around your neck as she whispers, “Can we try that one thing from the book I’ve been reading?”

“Anything you want, princess.”

It’s only been a few days since you’ve “realized” Zoey. She had been taking a bit to adjust to the reality of it all. Especially with the advancement of everything since she died! She was amazed at most anything you had shown her: Your TV…your smartphone—the internet ITSELF????? Which is what she was currently freaking out about in the library.

“…I mean—are you kidding?!” She snorts quietly as she scrolls Google, “We had something of the sort in my university, but THIS IS SO RIGHTEOUS!!"

Currently, she’s studying up on ghosts and whatnot for her new business venture in the paranormal. She had insisted on going to your public library because, in her words, “It was the epicenter of knowledge.” And as the patient girlfriend you are, you went along with her and let her do her thing.

“Golly, this is—so much?” She leans in, currently on an amateur-looking website about one specific individual’s ghost-hunting journey.

“In my recent journey to the conjuring house, I found myself surrounded by so much negative energy. Way more than any of my previous experiences,” Zoey reads aloud, “I’m sure it couldn’t be so bad…I mean the ghost might just be disgruntled, is all—I certainly was, wasn’t I?” She says, looking back at you. 

You shift your eyes, giving your lip a tiny bite before shrugging, “I don’t know, hon…you were pretty tame.” certainly tamer than THE conjuring house for sure.

She huffs gently, “Okay, but that’s cause I liked you and you were nice to me. This guy must’ve been a jerk.”

She goes on to read more, “…In my short time in the home I experienced doors slamming, equipment going off and even…bodily harm?”

“Jerky jerk.” You muse.

“Don’t be sassy.” Zoey pouts. She keeps scrolling before hitting an embedded YouTube link. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “Why does the picture have a triangle in the middle of it?” You laugh before moving your hand on top of hers on the mouse. She blushes wildly at the contact, still unused to touch. Even more considering you two were out in public.

With a click, the video starts. Zoey blinks before looking at you in amazement. Quickly, she looks back, watching intently.

The video itself was boring, not showing anything more than the guy’s equipment frying. Zoey huffs before looking back up at you, “First of all—how was that doing that!”

“What? The video?” You ask.

She nods before continuing, “How did they put that in there? Where’s the VHS slot?” She moves around to try to look for it.

You laugh at her gently, realizing she doesn’t quite understand modern technology. “You can upload files from your device onto the internet! It’s like if you were…” You had to think about how to explain it to her in a way she’d understand: “If you were transferring data from one computer to another with a floppy disc!” Even that didn’t sound right to you.

She nods along as if she understands.

“…except if there was no physical data storage device to transfer the contents—which still exists by the way—that’s just called a USB stick, but in this instance you’re uploading your video onto the cloud—or the internet? Into a database that gets shared with everyone else…or something..?” seems you barely knew how uploading or posting worked yourself apparently.

Zoey looks somehow even more confused than you. She looks carefully back at you with an excited chuckle, “I don’t know ANY of the words you just used…”

“I’m here to teach you, love.” You move to squeeze her in a side hug, before kissing her cheek.

She blushes gently before leaning away. Your eyes soften in worry, “What's wrong? Still feels a bit too much.”

She shakes her head before whispering, “No…well…” She looked up to see if anyone was paying attention.

“It’s just…we’re in public and…”

“You don’t like PDA?”

“No! I would love to uh…but—” She seems a bit flustered and almost concerned you didn't understand, “…we’re both girls?"

You’re taken aback for a moment, “…so?”

Her cheeks reddened more at that, “I like that you’re really into me. And you wanna show me affection even when we’re out like this! But I’m just a bit scared that people are gonna…”

You snort gently, before moving to whisper something in her ear.

After a few attempts at finding the perfect restaurant for your princess, you seemed stumped. Her list of requirements seemed simple enough. It had to be fancy but not pretentious, just casual enough to make her feel fancier than everyone in there. It had to be a dine-in thing, but it also had to be fast—she had things and people to do after all. The food had to be unique, non-traditional, but traditional, of course.

It was a lost cause before you remembered somewhere that had all of that and more.

“I didn’t know you could afford such luxury dining, darling!” Bathsheba squeals as they’re seated at their table.

“It’s nothing really,” you say with a small laugh. Because truly, it wasn’t.

The server comes by with a greeting and a fresh basket of bread, “Good evening, folks, what drinks are we gonna start off with?” They’re eyes seemed glued to Bathsheba as they spoke.

“I’ll start off with Sauvignon Blanc Starborough…unopened, please.” She smiles

“Anything for the lovely lady,” they muse.

…?

“I’ll have water.” You add in awkwardly. You were waiting for a queue to speak, but that never seemed to come.

“Right of course—”

“Nonsense, darling!!” Bathsheba interrupts the waiter, “You should treat yourself! Have some wine~”

“I can’t.” You laugh softly, “I am the one driving after all.”

She huffs before turning to the waiter, “They’ll have a virgin mojito.”

“On it…” They nod before walking away.

She turns back to you with a wide smile, “Seriously, darling, you must let loose, especially after working so much!”

“You don’t have to worry about me—It’s so I can afford nice things like this.” You assure gently.

“And it is nice!” She squeals, her hands already grabbing the bread at the table.

“All you can eat.” You smile.

Her mouth gaps, before more giggles of joy erupt from her excited expression.

“Are we ready to order?” The familiar voice of the waiter is heard as their drinks are handed off to them. They make quite a show of popping open the bottle before pouring it for your girlfriend. 

Bathsheba was absolutely delighted at the fanfare. You didn’t exactly know how to feel…considering you were given water even after Sheba’s interlude.

“I’ll have the lasagna classico,” she says with a clear accent, wanting to sound sophisticated.

“Perfect choice…soup or salad.”

She turns back to you, a grin on her face, seemingly impressed at the availability, “Salad is fine…”

“…and you?” The waiter says with a little less warmth than before.

“Uh…just a Seafood Alfredo.”

“Great.” They nod, leaving before you can tell them you want soup.

What the hell?

The rest of dinner seemed to go by smoothly, despite the waiter getting your order wrong, which Bathsheba pushed you to address. However, you being you, you were adamant it was okay (mostly because what was the point of making a scene about a few scallops)

You two were having a very nice conversation about your work life. At the moment, Bathsheba was going on about some workplace drama that was happening.

“And so the blue knight and white knight were busy out in the back, if you know what I mean—“

“Folks! Are we ready for the check?” The waiter stops by once more.

“Oh yes, please! We have lots of places to be! If you don’t mind.”

“Of course, of course…give me a moment, will you?”

They both watch the server walk away before Bathsheba turns to you, “What are we tipping the help?”

The…

Right. The reason you didn’t particularly care about the borderline flirting coming from the server is that you already understood your girlfriend’s demeanor. As much as she loved the attention she was being given, she didn’t think of it as anything more than deserved. She wasn’t flattered that they were speaking to her in a way, or calling her a lovely lady…after all, that was the expectation. Even now, as a piece of cake was being handed to her.

“Special gift from the kitchen…” They say as they place the chocolate cake in front of her.

She gives a giggle before looking at you, giving you a wink. She definitely believed you were the one who orchestrated that. They leave again after dropping that off.

“Darling, you know your stuff~” She purrs softly, taking a bite, “They do say chocolate is an aphrodisiac~”

You reddened at that. You’ve never quite gotten used to how explicit she was about that stuff, “Oh yeah…only the best!”

She chuckles as she looks back down. She seems to have spotted something. Her face morphs into a sour expression before picking it up. It seems to be a slip of paper…

She goes to wave the waiter down.

“Seems we’re ready to—”

“How DARE you!!” She starts immediately, “You have the AUDACITY to treat my partner like that and then try to get at me like this!!”

The waiter’s face flashes red in embarrassment, “Hold on, ma’am—”

“YOU hold on!! You’ve gotten their drink AND meal order wrong!! Not to mention the lackluster service they’ve received when THEY’RE the ones lining YOUR pockets!! They’ve been NOTHING but humble and sweet—even when you ignored them! And how dare you treat me well for personal gain rather than because I deserve it!! I’ll have you know I have thousands of adoring fans! Your flattery isn’t gonna work like you think! You think I’d settle for some SERVER—”

Her rant goes on for a while longer from there…mostly going on about how she deserved more respect than being nice to her because they want a ‘trip to the bathtub’ as she puts it. Even so, you really did appreciate her standing up for you. Especially when you didn’t want to do it yourself.

It’s the quality you loved most about her. She was brash and just that hard to enjoy. Like the acquired taste of dark chocolate, most would say it’s bitter and not sweet enough. But you know it’s the perfect amount of authenticity that lets you actually taste the quality of the cacao without diluting it with the ‘pleasantries’ of sugar and milk. Even so…

It’s safe to say you don’t frequent that specific Olive Garden anymore.

did I write it to be an olive garden just so I could make a joke at the end? yes. (I have to be silly it's in my blood) Anyways, I fully believe Bathsheba would be okay with less than luxury as long as she still felt like she was being spoiled (aka her partner can be broke guys please let me dream)

"Honey, could you please hurry yourself just a bit..?" Monique's voice rang from the other side of the hotel room.

The two of you had decided on taking a 'little trip' to a beach resort out in Mexico for a 'relaxing' honeymoon after making the financially sound decision to elope.

Just a simple court house wedding and a dinner with a few friends of course. While the concept of a big wedding was a desire, you both understood that it wasn't really in either of your fashions or budget.

…Instead, you two chose to allocate all the money you would've spent on a singular night to fund a pretty epic vacation.

Marriage had always been something both of you had wanted. You, because you loved the idea of the sanctity of marriage, in OR out of a church setting. To legally/spiritually devote yourself to someone because you love them so much was something you could only imagine in fairytales…but when you had met Monique in your attic, you realized that it wasn't just fiction.

And for Monique…it was for the tax benefits.

NOW!! She obviously adored you and wanted to keep you as an asset in her life forever…but man, does the concept of the extra tax credits and deductibles make her swoon. because with that extra savings from joint filing, she could invest that money into bigger and better things. Savings, retirement…spoiling you.

The IRS was her proverbial oyster!!

"Don't worry Moni!" you give a small dismissive laugh as you focus back onto the mirror in front of you, "The beach isn't going anywhere…"

"We're not just going to the beach." She reminds, "We've got that show and the tour—not to mention the dinner and drinks we have to go through!! Look! I have a whole schedule planned!"

You can't help but bust out laughing, leaning out to look at her, already ready and sitting on the bed. In her hand was a binder, presumably filled with that meticulously planned timetable.

"Did you really create a whole itinerary for this?"

You knew it was a dumb question the moment you spoke it. Obviously she did.

Monique was the stereotypical Type-A personality archetype. She had a plan for a plan and a backup plan for both. So obviously, you weren't surprised that she was ready with a binders worth of plans, you were simply amused at her predictability.

You move to sit with her, your hand lowering the binder for her.

"You know I love your readiness," You start softly.

"I do."

"But I also love when you relax~" your face moves to nuzzle against her neck quickly.

"This helps me relax…" She pouts as she kreens her neck at your tickles.

"easing your worry and relaxing are not the same thing." You remind.

"Since when?"

"Since forever?" You retort as you knock on the thick binder. Looking down, you almost huff in amusement.

"Honey, what do you even have in here?" Your hand moves to flip open the book on her lap, "We're only gonna stay for a week!"

She looks away before speaking, "Y'know normal things like…our return plane tickets printed out, our important documents and photo copies of them, what to do in case of: guides, listed numbers of the local authorities and the US embassy, emergency contacts, a checklist of everything we packed so when we leave we won't accidentally forget anything, and price break down of all the tours, amenities, and food we can take advantage of to get our moneys worth."

"Jesus."

…is all you really had to say in retaliation. Your hand flips further, "Did you plan out what you were gonna eat, too?" You start to joke before landing upon a page titled, ‘Bang for my Buck’ which compiled what you could presume are the most expensive meals at the resort. Honestly, you should've known better than to even kid around.

"I love the dedication?" You attempt to assure her.

She just gives a sigh as she falls back into the bed, "I'm a failure."

"What?! No?" You laugh as you fall right next to her.

"I am," She mumbles, "I said that I'd be more 'adventurous' and less…well, me during this trip."

"I mean, you kinda are." You move the itinerary in front of your face again, "Scuba diving? Who are you?" You say lightheartedly.

She gives a soft laugh at that, "I mean the other thing."

"What? The over-planning?"

She just gives a groan as she turns away in shame.

"Hey, I'm not saying it's a bad thing at all," Your arms wrap around her from behind, "I know I joke about the fact that you have such a meticulous way of being…but that's also why I love you, y'know? You think of things I couldn't have even imagined being a possibility. You keep my head straight."

She hums softly at that.

"Honestly, I don't know how you deal with me sometimes." You admit in a mumble, "I'm always going with the flow and getting into things headfirst without thinking through the repercussions—I'm forgetful! You've said it before that if my head weren't attached to my body, I'd forget it."

Now she's laughing, "You can be…air headed sometimes…"

You just nod gently, a smile on your face.

"But…that's also what I love about you," Monique says softly, "You can just relax even when you have work piled up or somewhere to be in an hour. If something doesn't go how you planned you don't just shut down like I do…"

Her hand finds yours to hold it tight, "You can just shrug it off and go from there. You're adaptable. Flexible. You're…what makes me realize I don't have to be on edge all the time. You show me that I can lean back and let life work sometimes…in general…not right now." She looks up to the binder above you two.

You can't help but chuckle, "Yeah? I guess I do!"

"Just so you know…I'm not bothered by the planner," you assure, "I just want to request that you try to relax while we're doing the things and not worry about being 'on schedule'…"

"…yeah, I can do that." She smiles back at you.

"Great! I was really hoping we wouldn't have to lug that thing around." You get up quickly.

She just rolls her eyes at you as she tugs you to the door, "C'mon, those mimosas are waiting for us…"

"Yes!" You smile, moving to walk out of the room, before you stop again, "Wait! Hold on!"

You zoom back to the bed, flipping through the binder to grab something, "I'm gonna need this!" You walk quickly back to Monique, showing off your passport.

"Why exactly are you gonna need that..?" She reluctantly asks.

"I lost my ID like a month ago, so I've been using this instead." You explain.

"your… driver's license." She clarifies.

You just simply shrug, "Yeah!"

She closes her eyes for a second, taking a deep breath, "I'm not gonna worry about the fact that you've been driving without a license for the past few weeks…just hand it over, I'll keep it safe."

"Okay!" You smile

"Okay…and remind me to make you a DMV appointment when we get back…"

"Yes, ma'am!"
