Im having so much fun writing my The 100 fanfic because the world is actually so vaguely setup that I have been happily world building for months.

One of my fave things: Proposal traditions

Specifically because I needed it for Linctavia

On the ark, it is customary for partners to propose with copper or aluminum rings that are easily malleable (saving up rations for a long time to trade for steel/iron rings) - with the gold rings (like Jake and Abby had) being passed down obviously

> Octavia of course wouldn't know this (only source is her brother and Greek mythology) so she uses the classic Greek way of chucking an apple at Lincoln's head

And specifically among Trikru it's kneeling and vowing to treat ones family as your own (pulling from the way both Lincoln and Lexa prioritized skaikru for Octavia and Clarke) + tattoos to signify the marriage (since tattoos are important to Trikru) = skaikru flipping over Octavia being tattooed was genuinely one of my fav moments to write

+ Clarke realizing from a conversation with Octavia that Lexa essentially proposed to her and that she didn't give her an answer mid life endangering adventure is also really fun to write
