         adulthood had done blaine & finn pretty well. there was no need to  COMPETE    for dominance, so their friendship was given plenty of room to organically develop. it was surprisingly how much the halls of mckinley   STIFLED   just as much as it    BLOSSOMED   its students .

           it was    SUMMER,   which meant that lima was flooded with those who were returning from their adventures. blaine had been bouncing from place to place, mainly crashing on the couch of whoever was throwing the   NEXT  PARTY .   it was nice to take a break from the   STRUCTURE   that he had developed in new york, and he could still submit his   WRITINGS   to agencies in the daylight hours he was actually awake for.

           tonight’s party was at the   MOTTA LAKEHOUSE,   and it was just as wild as one would expect. the dj system had turned into a full blown   KARAOKE  extravaganza once people had enough liquid courage in them, and blaine had taken it upon himself to   EMCEE   the event, as well as sing a few songs.

Maddy didn’t want to make Finn second guess himself or put any more doubt and fear into his head. Usually his biggest supporter she had told him before that no matter what uniform she was wearing, that she would always be cheering for him. There was still that part of her that honestly believed in her school’s team. The sharks were ruthless in everything else. Her school’s motto of ‘murder or be murdered’ alive in their football team only caused even more worry for the man she loved. “Finn.” She rolled her eyes before she pulled him by his jersey. Their contrasting colors again an indicator of how different they were. “Babe...” she paused looking for his eyes through his helmet. “Stop.” She still held on close to his jersey. Her cheek showing her true allegiance with a ‘#5′ in red for all to see. 

Couldn’t Finn see that she loved him? “You’re going to see me after the game, but....” she started as she waited for him to look at her. “I don’t want you to get hurt.” Maddy started to look down at her hand on his jersey. “I love you and I don’t want to see you in pain if someone sees you as an easy way to win this game.” Maddy pleaded with her eyes. “Can you just... promise me that you’ll be safe?” Maddy practically pleaded as she tried to get him to understand that it wasn’t his abilities that she questioned so much as his safety.

     kitty, marley’s best friend and their co-worker, was throwing an   engagement party    for marley and jake, even though they had already been engaged for    two years   . marley figured it was kitty’s    push    to get it through jake’s head that this was real, but who knew? marley knew better than to say no to kitty.

     with a flute of champagne in hand ( that she was mainly just carrying around because that stuff was   way too dry    for her liking ) , she walked around the house until she found finn. a soft smile spread across her lips as she approached him, resting her hand gently on his arm to get his attention.

     “  i’m really glad you came, ”   she confessed with a   warm, sympathetic smile  . “ how are you? we’ve really missed you at work. ”
