On November 21st, Krell, who came on after his guest star Ricky Eats Acid played a bass-filled, trance-ish introductory show, sang through a heart-wrenching two hour show at the Village Underground in Shoreditch. Krell might still not be well known but he sure as hell deserves to be. Playing in such intimate spaces meant fans stood side by side listening to How To Dress Well flawlessly reach his falsetto’s in his songs about heartbreak, death, lost childhoods, and of course, sex. The last time Tom Krell had a gig in London was in October 2014 in no other place than Heaven. He graced London again this year and brought back his lovely band of two guitarists, a keyboard player and an extremely shy drummer.

Tom Krell is easy to read, transitioning between each haunting track by telling hilarious stories about his relationships or sobering his audience up with a brutally honest dream he once had about his existence and his death. Not only does he sing his heart out for his fans but he connects with them on an emotional level no other artists have yet to do. Although he has never reached mainstream success, it didn’t stop him from gathering a rather large army of wholly dedicated fans who hang on to his every word. In his latest live show, he gave the audience exactly what they wanted and sang his entire new album, adding a few of his older songs from his debut Love Remains in between.
