The short answer, Nihility corrupting the Trailblazer could seriously fuck with things.

Okay so, Firefly’s devotion to keeping Nihility from touching TB came from a couple places. One of which obviously being genuine concern and care for TB and their safety.

The other of course, being the scripts.

Amongst the instructions Firefly got for Penacony, she was also given a ‘Zero-Point Mission’. Do we get an explanation as to the specifics of that? No, bc Firefly is under the belief she’s speaking to a fellow Hunter who should understand. Damn you Constance.

But its pretty easy to hazard a guess. Basically im assuming a Zero-Point Mission is like, a mission that supercedes the rest of the script in terms of importance. If need be to choose between your own life and the rest of the script, or the Zero-Point Mission… the latter is of a high importance.

Which Firefly does. Her first ‘death’ occurs because of that instruction.

The Zero-Point Mission in particular was basically just ‘Keep Nihility from touching Trailblazer.’

The exact reason for why, isnt said. Because of course not. The Stellaron Hunters love being vague about everything besides their care for each other and TB. Deadass thats like the one thing the fuckers are ever candid about istg.

Anyways.

From the looks of it, the Nihility would end up affecting the Trailblazer in a way thats really not good.

‘Everything they carry’ could mean so many things. The Stellaron, their power to change fate, the role they play in the universe, their connection to the Aeons…

the fragment of akivili they contain - im just kidding.. mostly. im not bringing fragment theory into this rn. i could. i totally could. but i wont.

However. A part of what Firefly was meant to do, was make sure Acheron didnt draw her blade around the Trailblazer.

Which she did. Twice.. maybe three times?

The first, iirc, before Firefly even met up with them, when Acheron & Trailblazer met in the untamed dreamscape. Im gonna be honest its still unclear to me whether she did or not.

It doesnt matter though, 2 vs 3 isnt that big of a difference. Not when the ‘faintest trace’ is a problem.

She drew it against Aventurine, and then again in the void.

Each time, Trailblazer was alongside her when she drew her blade.

“Nothing happened!”

And here we have a chekhovs gun!

Something Hoyo is oh, oh so fond of.

Just like the Stellaron, this is bound to be a Chekhovs Gun.

I imagine itll fire in 5.x, when Acheron & Firefly are both bound to return, alongside Kafka.

Or maybe itll take longer.. and the damage it does when it goes off is alot worse.

But it will fire eventually. Because Firefly didnt properly complete that mission of hers. Acheron drew her blade around Trailblazer, at least twice. Trailblazer has been touched by the Nihility.

The Nihility isnt something like the Hunt, the strife it causes isnt swift. It is slow, and creeping, and cant always be seen.

And with all the paths Trailblazer has connected to, it may be too subtle to be caught.. perhaps until its too late.

Maybe it's a stretch, but I thought it could be a interesting angle to look at Nihility TB

Yeah, it’s pretty likely thats going to be the case actually. Technically, they arent empty. They’re a vessel for the stellaron (and mb more, fragment theoriy’s claws are still dug into me-)

However. We do know that Trailblazer’s stellaron is likely unattached to any path.

Or that it attached to wtv path TB is. Meaning it’s still not properly aligned.

A Nihility-attached Stellaron seems.. dangerous. Very. And with how intertwined it is with TB? Yikes.

Beyond that, it also perfectly aligns with the whole corruption stuff that the other main hoyo mcs have.

Traveler’s corruption is liable to come about as a result of their Abyssal absorption ability - like with the Abyss Twin. The proxy’s corruption was because they absorbed too much ether over the course of the story. And then Kiana was literally made as a vessel for HoV.

In all honesty, the Nihility corruption is liable to be tied to their existence as a vessel, and likely the Stellaron.

Theres a good chance the Stellaron will be hungry for more energy after being activated to focus the wishpower. And the Wishpower is Elation (and abundance/voracity but shh not important rn) and whats the path ive already talked about being incredibly similar to the Elation?

Yeah the Nihility.

The Stellaron corrupting TB as a result of them using it to control the Elation and it desiring more? Yeah that seems cool and logical to me.

(Also I am now just truly writing my fic and will think of a synopsis later, don't know why I didn't do that before my priorities are weird sometimes :3)

IX’s ascension is truly interesting. It’s not as though we know of them being one of the first aeons. The earliest Aeons we know of, are Qlipoth, HooH, Ena, and Long.

I’d personally classify Ix as belonging to the ‘2nd Generation’ aeons. Akivili, Nous, Aha.. Ix. I imagine however, that Akivili was the first of the second generation to ascend.

Its likely we wont know for some time, but i imagine that their ascension would have been similar to Aha’s, in all honesty. Where they were faced with the same reality of existence.

But instead of ending up laughing in its face, they were crushed by the weight of existences meaninglessness.

On a another note about Ix, theoretically we dont actually know their true form. They’ve been described as hiding behind layers of mist and whatnot before. Their true form might in fact not be the Blob.

Also i still want Hoyo to make a plushie of them, like seriously.

I’d argue it’s similar to how Acheron is a blindspot for the scripts, kinda. Because of how attached Nihility is to her, she’s totally obscured. Hence why Firefly freaked like she wasnt supposed to be on Penacony, because.. well she wasnt according to the script, nor should the Trailblazer be let infected by it.

With Acheron, i’d say it’s like when ink decided to fuck you over when you’re writing and making a giant mess over everything you wrote. You cant see whats there, its all black.

Silver Wolf’s Elation is a bit different. It’s just that the Elation is simply too unpredictable at that level. She’s granted too much freedom to do what she wants, Elio cant see it properly. Like writing a bunch of words over each other to the point its unreadable as gibberish. He can still see her future, but its too much of a mess.

I’d argue that Trailblazer’s evasion of fate is kind similar to a mix of both, and considering their Trailblaze-Finality mix i’d argue it makes sense.

Silver Wolf can only affect the script like that when she’s given access to her lvl 999 form. The loopholes and playing loose with the script isnt because of her emanator status, that is something that all of them are free to do, just Silver Wolf is kinda the only one who tends too. Or at least the Hunter who does it the most frequently.

Which makes sense. Scripts are basically just game quests. What gamer follows a quest to the letter? If they can fulfill a hidden or optional object to make the result better why not? If they can take a shortcut without fucking up the quest, why not?

The loopholes are not the same as the effect she has on the scripts in her lvl999 form. The loopholes arent breaking the scripts, in fact i’d argue Elio is perfectly happy with the loopholes. I mean the loophole ARE why the SH can visit the Trailblazer as much as they can manage, that and downtime between scripts or acts. (I doubt Elio would be upset about something that clearly tends to generally make the Hunter’s feel a bit happier. He does seem to care about them, in his own way.)

But the undiluted Elation Silver Wolf has in her lvl999 form fucks with the scripts, hence why it’s only given to her in particular situations. Such as now, because Elation is already fucking with the scripts, might as well right? Blade doesnt even have an actual script anyways. Theres no point.

I dont think its the Emanator status though- not as a general rule. Because if it was because of her being an Emanator… then Herta, Lygus, Phainon, Cyrene, the Generals, March, Sunday… they would also cause problems - regardless of if they’re a full or pseudo-emanator - but they dont. Elio is perfectly capable of scriptwriting with them involved.

The two characters who are obscured for certain, and the third who is all but confirmed, are very particular characters.

Trailblazer, who is unbeholden to fate, with connections to Terminus & Akivili. Elio’s exact ability and the clearness that he can see their fate is unknown. (Elio is the person most likely to have a grasp of Trailblazer’s future because of how his foresight seems to function, but ultimately the future chosen lies in Trailblazer’s hands.)

Acheron, Emanator of Nihility.

Silver Wolf, Emanator Of Elation.

Ive talked about how Elation & Nihility are similar before. At their core, both surround meaningless. Nihility is accepting it and giving in to it, while Elation is accepting and laughing at it.

Their connection to meaningless, and how pure the connection the two emanators have to the two paths, is what i’d argue makes them people who can screw with Elio’s scripts. With the information we have thus far, it makes the most sense.

Equation Inference:

Nihility is fairly cut and dry. Its nihilism to the extreme. ‘Nothing has meaning, why do anything.’

Elation however, is alot more complex than it is at a first glance imo. Elation is chaos, having fun, etc etc, yes.

But the way Aha is said to have ascended changes things a bit.

They ascended to the top of the imaginary tree (huge feat btw??) and when looking out from the top, they saw how all meaning bowed to nothingness, the stars working like machines and the endless void. They kept watching up until they saw a baby fall to the ground and start to cry. The sight was so funny and so hopelessly random that they started laughing so hard they ascended to Aeonhood, laughter still echoing throughout the universe to this day.

(Real, i also laugh really badly when babies fall. Im mean i know.)

Aha found nothingness at the end of their climb, but instead of bowing to Nihility, they instead found something so randomly chaotic they couldnt help but laugh.

Elation acknowledges that there is ultimately no meaning to things, but rather than giving up, there is still fun to be had. With no meaning, there is chaos, and there is fun to be had in chaos.

Ix and Aha saw likely incredibly similar things, but reached paradoxically different and alike conclusions.

I dont personally believe that Elation & Nihility are connected as deeply as say, the Hunt is to Abundance, or Finality & Trailblaze are to each other, but they are connected.

IX

I don't have most of the characters who can make good use out of her, and for those that I do have, they've already got dedicated team members who've been tuned to them. getting her would be a huge undertaking that I don't want to deal with in the current state of the game

Fugue

Amicassador of the Xianzhou Luofu's Sky-Faring Commission. After a devastating encounter with a Lord Ravager, she was left broken in both body and spirit, only to be saved by a genius, turning misfortune into blessing, and reentering the fray.

unowned: new design looks sick, so she's got that going for her. I don't really care about superbreak so she's not a high priority for me. could I potentially get her for boothill? yeah, but I don't see myself doing that anytime soon—I suppose only time will tell

Guinaifen (e6)

A performance artist visiting the Xianzhou Luofu — in other words, a street performer. She's chasing a new life on the Luofu when not concerned with food and shelter.

guin used to be my firefly at home (I played her in a superbreak team for a hot minute) but this is definitely an outdated and quirky way to use her

I don't really play with her anymore since my trailblazer is being used elsewhere on a different path and I don't have anyone else who can make this build work as intended. also DoT has been lackluster for a long while, so switching her to a build that actually suits her purpose is not a priority for me. don't hold your breath on an update for her

saw her splash art and description during drip marketing and she looks intriguing, but not enough for me to know if I want to pull her just yet. If she's a debuffer then perhaps, if not, I'd rather not deal with the whole DoT mess until they've rectified the many issues with it at present (the most pressing being that it's damn near irrelevant and borderline unusable right now)

Jiaoqiu

An advisor under Feixiao. Responsible for her food and health. To him, a medicine-boiling cauldron is no different from a hotpot on a stove, and the ingredients of meals are also no different from medication...

unowned: I don't have a need for him but I do like him so there's a chance that he could end up on my account one day. just depends on how he holds up to time and if DoT ever gets the buff it that desperately needs

Kafka

A member of the Stellaron Hunters. A dashing, collected, and professional beauty. Used the enchantment of Spirit Whisper to set up [the Trailblazer] to absorb the Stellaron. Her hobby is shopping for and organizing her collection of coats.

unowned: lost 50/50 on the debut banner & I am no longer interested in getting her. she's getting buffed in 3.4 but I doubt that will change my feelings on pulling her

The boxing champion in Belobog's Underworld, and one of Wildfire's most capable fighters. The consecutive reigning champion of the Fight Club, whose enthusiasm inspires children of the Underworld to dream big.

unleveled: his kit has never really appealed to me so I won't waste the mats or time building him until I've completely run out of other characters to work on

Pela (e6)

An intelligence officer for the Silvermane Guards. She has a serious personality and is revered by other members of the Silvermane Guards.

there’s a vision in my head of 4pc wind + vonwacq pela but the game is still fighting me on it—aka, I rarely farm eagle so making her better has been incredibly slow-going

vonwacq is incredibly stingy so getting the right pieces has been rough, but I did finally manage to get a great sphere for her (yippee!)

I honestly don't use her enough to justify spending tbp on her; maybe she'll wind up with a better rope whilst I'm farming for another unit. however, silver wolf buffs are coming in 3.4 so she might end up stripped and benched if the devs truly cook with sw's updated kit

A merchant who freely travels between the Overworld and the Underworld. He acts like he is everyone's friend, is enthusiastically humorous, and is good at bantering.

finally got him off of the crit meme build. this is a very generic sampo so there's not much to say about it

like with most of the DoT units, I haven't used him in quite a while either. although, this build is more recent than all the others because I got a new full set of prisoner for him while trying to improve my general (jing yuan) over the last 8 months

A member of the Stellaron Hunters and a genius hacker. She sees the universe as a big immersive simulation game and has fun with it. She's mastered the skill known as "aether editing," which can be used to tamper with the data of reality.

stripped and benched: not built enough to warrant a card and there's a chance she's going to want new pieces after her 3.4 buffs anyway, so I preemptively removed her old pieces

looking forward to being able to use her again! really hoping for good updates to her kit
