When Billy was little, he had one plush companion. A plush shark that was as big as he was and he got him at a sea life theme park his mom took him to. One day, Neil got so mad at him, he took his friend and ripped him into pieces in front of his eyes.

Billy never had a plush toy again.

Until that one day, when Steve took him to that theme park and surprised him with the exact same plush shark. It took him months to find the right one from that year Billy went to the park.

"I know he can't be replaced, but I hated your bad memory, so I wanted to make a new one to replace it. No one will hurt this one and no one will ever hurt you again." he promised.

"I hate you.." was all Billy said, but Steve knew every time Billy said that, he did something right.

Add your work to the AO3 collection (if you post it to AO3. Collection will open on 1 June 2026. Not mandatory.)

1) No hate speech against anything/anyone. Period. Let's be excellent to each other.

UNLESS: If your work includes it because it fits the time period or a character's portrayal (Neil, Tommy, etc.) just make sure to tag the work accordingly.

3) Most forms of Dead Dove content are accepted but mentions of pedophilia or sexual abuse of children, i.e. non-consensual themes for any character under the age of 18, are strictly forbidden. This also means that any mentions of child abuse can't have any sexual undertones or be sexual in nature.

4) AI-generated works are not allowed.

5) The work must be new and created for this event. If you have an old WIP (god don't we all) that's collecting dust and is not fully/partially published anywhere, feel free to use it.

6) Accepted forms of fan works:

Fan fic - Minimum 500 words

Art - Minimum 300 x 300 pixels in digital form (no matter if the original is digital or traditional art)

Fan video - Minimum 15 seconds

Pod fic - Minimum listening time 5 minutes

Moodboards: Minimum 4 images

Playlist - Minimum 7 songs + cover art

Rec list - Minimum 3 summery fanworks Harringrove + explanation why you're recommending these works specifically.
