Hands down the best clouds I have ever painted! What do you think? . . . . #painting #oilpainting #realistic #clouds #howtopaintclouds #arttimelapse #artvideo #artist (at Beverly Hills, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B40PYBenrAU/?igshid=ke6e2ord3h9g
For the longest time I did not include any clouds in my paintings because I simply did not know how to paint them. I got tired painting empty skies, so I decided to spend a day studying these fluffy things. I must admit, they are quite challenging to paint because there is constant jumping back and forth between soft and hard edge. Also there are many subtleties in color and value shift, which makes it even trickier to paint. The next step is to apply what I learned in these studies. Hopefully my next piece will have some clouds!
