when you really start to notice time.
You sometimes realize how times have changed,
sometimes you don’t , and that’s awkward.
You have lost friends; most drifted away,
some dumped you,others were dumped by you.
It’s OK, the Economics of History.
But every now and then you lose track,
when you’re in this nice cosy pub
so lively,noisy, Christmas-crowded
and you remember her,
the friend you used to meet here,
your bestie; you even look for her.
Suddenly it dawns on you she’s nowhere any more
she died of a cancer when she was your age,
the perfect friend,mother,worker,wife.
You even message someone who confirms it:
“Yes,it’s going to be six years...”
Already.
And I’m always complaining pubs change too often
in this city.
Well, this one doesn’t.
On this day exactly 4 years ago, I walked up this track that lead to the ruins of Rougham Hall. I had no clue that in the future I’d be going up & down this track on a regular basis. Amazing... I really needed this reminder today. In 2012, I was told I was pre-diabetic, obese, high risk of a lot of health issues, single and stuck in my ways. Now only 4 years later, I've turned my weight around, kicked pre-diabetes ass, enjoyed a healthy way of life, and I'm looking forward to becoming a mother with my husband.
