"You make a good pillow," Eggabell yawns.

Lizbert chuckles, running claws over Eggabell's scalp in a lazy massage.

The waves crash on the sand, a soft whisper. When the tide retreats, a layer of foam stays behind. The water’s clean and picture perfect. 

Above them, the stars are coming out. They don't have anywhere to be and can just watch each little speck bloom into a new light. It's clear, too. No clouds. No light pollution, not out here.

"When's the last time you slept, Bell?" Lizbert asks.

"I, uh, hmm." Eggabell thinks for a moment. "Like a full eight hours? Because I got four hours the other afternoon? And I took a nap this morning, but--"

"You can't run yourself so ragged," Lizbert tells her, now actively massaging Eggabell's scalp. "I worry about you, Bell."

"Yeah I got that." Eggabell stares up at Lizbert. "The whole being-one-consciousness thing. You, uh, you're a lot less stubborn and selfish than I thought."

"And you're not as soft as you think, Bell."

"Aw, shucks." Eggabell settles, staring at the last bit of sunset on the horizon. "We don't have to go back, right?"

"Not if you don't want to."

Eggabell sighs. "You are, like, the best pillow, Liz."

"You can rest. I'll be right here," Lizbert assures her.

Eggabell fights it. But she is tired. It's been a long, tiring couple of weeks. So she nods off.

I think he ate ONE strabby early on when he was sleepwalking and he was so disgusted with himself that he threw up and was severely upset about it for the week or so  it took for the effect to wear off.
