A year ago I was so excited to get this classroom, I think mostly just because it was mine. A classroom of my own. Of course it only took me a month to realize the shape of my classroom wasn't conducive to...anything, or that my classroom has only two power outlets, or that my classroom's door was going to slam on me basically every day. But still it was mine. On Wednesday, with all of my posters and supplies packed away, I left my classroom for the summer. It feels weird and like I kind of should be there planning lessons right now.
