May I have some ✨unusual✨ facts about the founding fathers?
hm unusual... i might be running out of weird facts, but I'll do my best to find ones i haven't done
-thomas jefferson would soak his feet in water for thirty minutes when he woke up every morning
-washington owned a SHIT TON of dogs, like as many breeds as possible, and i think that's really nice
-jefferson apparently had bears at the white house...
-aaron burr (allegedly) stole jefferson's table and said that he invented it and it's called the aaron burr table. but i mean i'd rather have an aaron burr table than a thomas jefferson table ngl, that sounds basic as hell
-idk wtf a mastodon is but jefferson was obsessed with it and had its bones
-james madison rode on his wife's shoulders. also dolley might have been bisexual or something similar
-i was looking at this website to help me remember more facts and one of them is "washington gave up the presidency to make whisky" and that makes it sound like it was the only reason, which made me giggle
-hamilton defended the defendant (no shit) in what was potentially the first murder trial in america along with burr, and they did a few more trials together. one time burr knew that hamilton would want to speak last so in the best petty move ever, he put everything he could into his speech so hamilton would have nothing to talk about. get girbossed, bitch
-Buttons Gwinnett (who i didn't know existed so there's another fact) also died in a duel, so Hamilton isn't that special
-jefferson thought that the constitution should be revised every 19 years and madison basically had to be like "...bro are you on drugs???" (which he probably was) because that would cause the constitution to crumble basically lol
-gouverneur morris tried to fix his urinary tract infection by sounding himself (google it if you're feeling brave) and died because of it <3
-benjamin rush was a really shitty doctor. he used blood letting and forced vomiting to treat yellow fever, which obviously didn't work. idk when this got gross, but hamilton was treated with similar methods when he and his mother got sick before she died
