“Avid,” Legundo moves for the door, trying not to startle him too harshly. If he is having some sort of mental break, Legundo needs to move carefully. Avid doesn’t respond in words, just a gasp before Legundo manages to get the door open. Looking down to meet the young man’s eyes, staring horrified up at him. “Oh, no no no no!” Avid wails, pushing back against the far wall. “Shut the door! You have to- I have to-!” Legundo has no idea what Avid is trying to communicate, but considering the door can only be opened from the outside, Legundo is keen to remain blocking it open. --- Avid doesn't get turned. He panics, and Legundo reaches out to right a few wrongs, finally listening to Avid's concerns and trying to help.

The sun rises over Oakhurst, warm rays glinting off the fresh laid snow blanketing the small town. The fields beyond its walls nearly seem to sparkle, blinding those who dare look upon it. It’s beautiful. Gorgeous, really, if only Apo could find it in herself to truly appreciate the sight. - Apo celebrates the Winter Solstice with the Militias whilst thinking about Cherri back home, and appreciating who she has now.

Summary:

It’s been a little over a decade since the end of the war. Since Legundo was walked out as one of the few survivors of those he trained with, commended for his efforts as both a soldier and field medic, and given a medal. For his bloodless victory. For the peace he brought forth and the lives he saved. Bloodless in name alone. Something he was forced to ruminate on, in the years that followed. But the deaths on his hands were still many. From the town he poisoned, to the soldiers he failed, and the enemies he once aimed his gun towards. Legundo had accepted he was a monster. The badge chained to his uniform and now surely hung proudly in his family home serving as a reminder that he will never be a peaceful man. He will never be good, and he will never make up for the horrible, horrible things which stain his hands. -- A canon divergence set ten years before the events of Vampires SMP. A "4 + 1" of the times Legundo met Avid & Elle, and the time they stuck together. Author does not support cc AvidMC. This is about the Characters.

It has been an odd few weeks in Oakhurst. Being turned and promptly ignored by the castle vampires as if Pyro hadn’t stuck his nasty little claws into them. The tension between town and castle hitting a new high with the undeniable revelations of the reality of vampyricism to the skeptical. And most recently, another elder, seemingly risen from his grave. Louis. A man Cleo knows nothing about, and seemingly, neither does anyone else. -- Following the sudden return of Owen's sire to Oakhurst, Cleo seeks out Louis to compare their vampiric history against his experience and learns a few things about them both.

King Scott of Rivendell is interrupted from travel preparations and introduced to a deathly stranger wearing his own face. He brings the stranger along with him to his meeting in House Blossom in hopes of delivering the man a route home. Instead he earns himself a headache and a whole lot of questions. -- 3L! Scott appears in Rivendell and meets E1!Scott. They try and figure out how to get Scott home.

“Birdie wanted to leave home, and Sparky helped him leave? Right? That's-” the voice pinches off for a moment, a sharp noise in their throat. “Is Birdie happy? Is he alive? Was it worth it?” The wide open plains around them feel suffocating for a moment. As if all the air in the world has been stolen away from them. Tango’s mouth hangs open, brain wracking for answers. For who this could be. For why now a call would come. “Yeah- yeah I’m happy,” Jimmy breaks the silence, a confidence he has fought and ran for stirring in his chest. So obvious Tango swears he could fall in love all over again. “I’m alive, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been." -- AKA Tango helped Jimmy escape from a cult and now they live on their ranch together. Scott, also escaping a similar cult, finds a way to reach out for help, and the ranchers come running.
